🚀 Mission success for flight #VV25! Arianespace successfully launches European Union’s Copernicus Earth observation Sentinel-1C satellite ➡️ On December 5, 2024, the Vega C launcher lifted-off from the Guiana Space Center, French Guiana, at 6:20 pm local time (9:20 p.m. UTC, 10:20 p.m. CET). The Arianespace operated Vega C launcher successfully placed its passenger, the Copernicus Sentinel-1C satellite, into Sun-synchronous orbit (SSO) at an altitude of 700 km. Spacecraft separation occurred 1 hour and 43 minutes after lift-off. ➡️ This flight, carrying the Copernicus #Sentinel1 C satellite for the European Commission within the scope of a contract signed with the European Space Agency - ESA, serves the Earth observation component of the European Union’s Space Program. Providing crucial environmental data for the planet the mission also highlights Arianespace’s commitment of guaranteeing Europe’s independent access to space. ➡️ Sentinel-1C is the 6th Sentinel satellite launched by Arianespace. ➡️ This VV25 mission marks the successful return to flight of the Vega C launcher. 🤝 We extend our heartfelt thanks to the European Commission and European Space Agency - ESA for their trust, and congratulate our partners for the successful return to flight of Vega C. This evening, AVIO's Vega-C rocket will lift off from Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana from 22:00 CET, carrying the Sentinel-1C mission into orbit. Realtime Technologies is proud to once again be part of the #VegaC launch, as a key manufacturing partner to Curtiss-Wright Corporation, who supports the Vega-C launch vehicle.
