Our Co- Founder Steven Lane share his thoughts on how leaders need to prepare themselves for future leadership

I help leaders, executives and professionals to significantly improve their mindsets, change their subconscious blue print and especially to become wiser, more at peace and happier.

Corporate Leadership is Changing: How to Get Ready for It! Organizations today are evolving from traditional, top-down management models to people-centered systems that prioritize inspiration, engagement, and purpose. This shift embraces holistic, wisdom-led approaches that foster sustainable growth and systemic thinking. Leading companies, like Microsoft, An Post, and Salesforce, are pioneering this transition, creating environments where employees thrive and meaningful impact takes precedence. The shift is underway but not uniform across the board. While some organizations recognize the necessity of restructuring their business models and leadership frameworks, integrating practices such as self-managing teams and emphasizing collective wisdom, others remain rooted in old-fashioned, hierarchical, command-and-control models. Evidence suggests that companies resistant to change may struggle to survive over the next decade, unable to attract top talent or meet modern challenges (Deloitte, 2023). Many companies attempt this shift under the guise of culture change, yet lack the insight and investment in leadership development to succeed. In contrast, top employers with progressive leadership approaches are already demonstrating the competitive advantages of engaged, purpose-driven work environments. As employees increasingly value purpose and ethical practices over profit alone, companies that fail to evolve risk being left behind (Harvard Business Review, 2022). Historically, profit maximization has been the guiding principle for corporations, with even legal frameworks reinforcing this focus. Yet, as the world rapidly evolves, organizations are recognizing the need to balance profit with people, purpose, and the planet. 1. Profit: Companies remain profit-driven, but increasingly, “profit at any cost” is no longer acceptable. 2. People: Companies are prioritizing people-centered practices for employees, customers, and stakeholders. Research shows that employees who feel heard are up to five times more likely to be engaged and loyal (Gallup, 2023). 3. Purpose: Organizations need a meaningful mission beyond mere profit, especially as they attract Gen Z, who increasingly prioritize purpose and ethical impact in their careers (PWC, 2023). 4. Planet: Sustainability is no longer optional. With increasing environmental disasters, companies must go beyond “greenwashing” to implement authentic sustainability policies. In addition, modern leaders face complex challenges: stress, rapid change, and the emergence of AI technologies. Tomorrow’s leaders must be ready for transformative growth, as superficial solutions alone are insufficient. The Wisdom Mindset: A Crucial Shift for Today's Leaders In our fast-paced, data-driven world, leaders are often trapped in a cycle of quick decisions and short-term thinking. But what if the key to truly effective leadership lies in slowing down and embracing a wisdom mindset? The Wisdom-Right Brain Connection Research shows that wisdom is closely tied to right-brain dominance. The right hemisphere excels at: - Seeing the bigger picture - Understanding context and interconnections - Processing emotions and intuition - Embracing complexity and paradox These are precisely the qualities needed for wise leadership in our complex, rapidly changing world. The Perils of Left-Brain Dominance When we become too left-brain dominant, we risk: - Tunnel vision and missed opportunities - Dehumanizing work environments - Short-term thinking at the expense of long-term sustainability - Inability to adapt to complex, evolving challenges As Dr. Iain McGilchrist, renowned psychiatrist and author, warns: > "The left hemisphere is concerned with manipulation of the world, but the right hemisphere is concerned with understanding the world." Without right-brain wisdom, businesses may achieve short-term gains but struggle with innovation, employee engagement, and long-term viability. On a societal level, we risk environmental degradation, social fragmentation, and a loss of meaning and purpose. Cultivating the Wisdom Mindset To shift into a wisdom mindset, leaders must: 1. Slow down and create space for reflection 2. Practice mindfulness and heightened awareness 3. Seek diverse perspectives and embrace complexity 4. Cultivate empathy and emotional intelligence 5. Think systemically, considering long-term and far-reaching impacts 6. Trust intuition alongside analytical thinking 7. Prioritize purpose and values over short-term metrics The Wisdom Imperative In a world crying out for sustainable, ethical, and visionary leadership, can you afford not to develop your wisdom mindset? The challenges we face – from climate change to societal polarization to rapid technological disruption – demand leaders who can see the bigger picture, navigate complexity, and make decisions that benefit the whole. Are you ready to unlock your right-brain wisdom and lead with a broader, deeper perspective? Your team, your organization, and our collective future may depend on it. #LeadershipWisdom #RightBrainThinking #SustainableLeadership #SystemicLeadership

It's almost 3 weeks since 'Awakened Leaders - How to Become the Leader The World Needs Now' came out and it's been a fantastic experience. It hit number one in multiple categories on Amazon when it was published and the feedback we've had from people who have read it has been remarkable. It's heartening to hear how many people are ready for a shift in leadership structure. The old ways of doing things don't cut it anymore, and people are hungry to move to a model which is more holistic, inclusive and reflective of their value as people. It's such an exciting time to see people open up and be courageous enough to be themselves at work, rather than simply be the role. We need more people to tap into their innate wisdom and keep this wave of new leadership coming. Thank you to everyone who has read the book and to the wonderful women who made it happen Dina Behrman Melanie MacIntyre Rebecca Hamilton Gail Partridge Elaine Troup Robin Miles, PhD(c) Beryl Preuschmann Joy Hess Jennifer Lemon #consciousbusiness #awakenedleaders2024 #mindset #leadership #entrepreneurship #leadingwithlove

Evolving Your Leadership: Inner Clarity and Breaking Barriers Leadership isn’t just about strategy or getting things done; it’s about igniting transformation which in turn depends upon how you show up. As we explore effective leadership, let’s dive deeper into two critical aspects: Inner Clarity: Imagine leadership as a compass. It starts with knowing yourself—your values, strengths, and purpose and your inner dynamics such as your thinking, belief system and your ability to remain in a calm clear space. When leaders cultivate inner clarity, they radiate authenticity. Often this journey begins with inward looking, honesty and the willingness to face discomfort. This can be a long journey and you will almost certainly need to partner with a coach or other helper. Removing Performance Obstacles: Picture your team charging at concrete walls. These walls represent limiting beliefs, stress, and misconceptions. To lead effectively, we must dismantle these barriers for ourselves and our team. Here’s how: Observe Yourself: This may be the most important tool – watch how you think, react, get stressed, hide, pretend etc. Limiting Beliefs: Challenge assumptions. What if “impossible” is just an unexplored path? Leaders inspire by pushing boundaries, not accepting them. Stress Management: Stress is inevitable, but how we respond matters. Simon Sinek reminds us, “Leadership is not about the next election; it’s about the next generation.” Prioritize well-being, resilience, and balance. Clarity Killers: Beware of foggy vision. Warren Bennis said, “Becoming a leader is synonymous with becoming yourself.” Clear the clouds; lead with purpose. Overcoming Obstacles: Henry Ford nailed it: “Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.” Keep your gaze steady. Be Open: When you are open, transparent and sometimes vulnerable, you can let go more easily, you gain the respect and trust of your team and you become flexible, compassionate and kind. Persistence: Denis Waitley advises, “Success is almost totally dependent upon drive and persistence.” Leaders persistently break through walls. Remember, leadership isn’t a solo journey. It’s about growing others, as Jack Welch wisely noted. So, how will you inspire clarity and demolish barriers today? #LeadershipJourney #InnerClarity #BreakBarriers#leadership performance

Our co-founder Steven Lane talks about Self Compassion. This is one of the foundational mindshifts that leaders need and which we cover in some of our trainings.

I help leaders, executives and professionals to significantly improve their mindsets, change their subconscious blue print and especially to become wiser, more at peace and happier.

8 Techniques to Practice Self – Compassion: The Path to Wellbeing Self-Compassion is a powerful evidence-based technique that has some amazing benefits: - Boosts Mental Health: Research shows that self-compassion leads to greater emotional resilience, accurate self-concepts, and more caring relationship behavior. - Reduces Stress and Anxiety: Being kind to yourself during challenging times helps calm your nervous system and reduces anxiety. - Enhances Well-Being: Self-compassion fosters a positive mindset, leading to improved overall well-being and life satisfaction. In an article by Dr Emma Seppala of Standford University, the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education, she says, “Though the term “self-compassion” may sound like self-indulgence or may feel like a weakness, it is actually the secret to resilience, strength in the face of failure, the ability to learn from mistakes and to bounce back with greater enthusiasm. Self-compassion involves treating oneself as one would a friend, being more mindful, and understanding our situation in the context of a larger human experience. When we can be more understanding and gentler with ourselves, identify less with the emotions that surround our mistakes, and understand that failure is a normal part of the larger human experience, we become stronger and more successful in the long run.” (ref: The Scientific Benefits of Self-Compassion - The Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (stanford.edu) )   So, how do you get started? (Self-Compassion is a deep practice that you need to attend to on a daily basis – it is actually a mindset and relationship with yourself). The following 8 techniques though, will get you moving in the right direction and give you an idea of what is involved: read more: https://lnkd.in/e9XK4JgG

(Reposted from our Co-Founder Steven Lane) What did Sir John Whitmore mean with Interference?   Sir John Whitmore in his groundbreaking book “Coaching for Performance” said Performance = Potential – Interference. Coaches are always trying to bring out the potential, but often do not succeed in removing enough interference to significantly increase performance. In fact, the degree to which they succeed with this really is the degree to which they can be said to be great coaches! What is the interference? It is a combination of subconscious suppressed emotions and limiting beliefs (the subconscious blueprint), alongside busyness, stress, lack of access to their right brain function, lack of clarity of mind, and often a deeply held fundamental self-doubt and limited mind-set. Simply pushing through to attain goals will not cut it. The interference must be systematically removed. And this takes time and strong commitment. The first and perhaps most important step is to return to oneself – that is to return to the here and now, be aware of the body, feelings and emotions and be willing to feel them. Almost immediately, an unravelling begins to take place, and within a short period of time people often say they feel more grounds, calmer and have greater clarity. This is the starting point to remove interference At SoulWise, when we coach leaders, our aim is always to remove interference so that they can truly perform at a higher level!
