At Skyline, we're looking at a different future for crane operations – a $52 billion market with challenges that have been stubbornly ignored for too long: 💸 Inefficiency Cranes are idle 50% of the time – half a day of high-value equipment just sitting there. With only one operator per crane, the inefficiencies add up quickly, impacting both timelines and costs. ⚠️ Safety Traditional crane controls put the operator, the surroundings, and the entire site at risk. Mistakes aren’t cheap here – they’re dangerous. 👷 Labour The average age of crane operators is 60. (Yes, sixty!) The expertise gap isn’t just widening – it’s a chasm. We’re building a future where cranes work smarter, operators are safer, and sites run smoother. #Innovation #Towercranes #Contech #cranes

🏗️ A step towards the future 🏗️ We’ve all heard about the growing skills gap in construction, but how often do we hear about the innovations that are addressing it? Yesterday, Skyline Cockpit was featured on BBC News Midlands Today, showcasing our ground-breaking remote control crane system at the Lancaster Street site in Birmingham—a UK first! This technology isn’t just about efficiency or safety (though it definitely boosts both). It’s about making construction more accessible, especially for younger talent. As @Gagan Kakkad, a crane operator at Winvic Construction Ltd, shared in his interview, with Skyline Cockpit, Gagan’s job—and others like his—are evolving. As he put it, "I think this will push a lot more younger people to work on crane operating, because I’ve worked around two years now and I haven’t met anyone in my age range yet." We’re proud to be creating technology that not only improves safety but also brings fresh talent into the industry. Huge thanks to Winvic Construction Ltd and Radius Group for their collaboration, and to BBC Midlands Today for highlighting this important development.
