Out of thousands of companies, we stood out for our commitment to bringing healthcare innovation into the home, making testing simpler and more proactive for both patients and providers. We're especially proud to be recognized for our Minuteful Kidney program, which enables at-home testing to improve CKD detection. This award strengthens our mission to tackle CKD early and make a lasting impact on patient lives. We are proud to see Healthy.io’s Minuteful Kidney service recognised in the UK government's "5 Missions for a Better Britain: Build an NHS Fit for the Future" report, led by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. This recognition reflects our alignment with the NHS’s vision for a more digital, decentralised, and preventive healthcare system—three key themes that we believe are crucial to creating a future-ready NHS. Minuteful Kidney has already reached over 500,000 patients across the UK, who are at risk of CKD and CVD, to enable them to test their kidney health from the comfort of home. As a result, we’ve helped to identify tens of thousands who require further care, saving lives, preventing costly interventions, and generating significant savings for the NHS. While we’ve seen positive outcomes from our work, scaling services across the NHS has been challenging due to inconsistent uptake and variations in localised approval processes and digital budgets. The reference to Minuteful Kidney in the report reinforces the importance of addressing these barriers, and we’re hopeful that this shift towards a more centralised, national approach will provide the necessary momentum to accelerate adoption and ensure equitable access for patients across all regions. The new government’s strategy to modernise and digitise healthcare gives us hope that this is indeed the case. By creating a more streamlined, predictable pathway for digital health solutions, we can help deliver on the promise of a modern, efficient NHS that benefits everyone, regardless of geography. We were proud to partner with the National Kidney Foundation to deliver free at-home kidney test kits to at-risk individuals during this year’s Congressional Black Caucus Foundation event. This initiative was a crucial step toward addressing health disparities in CKD, particularly in Black communities, who are at higher risk of kidney failure. Attendees at-risk of CKD received our Minuteful Kidney test, enabling early detection right from home, helping more people get tested and take action on their kidney health. We’re thrilled to see Healthy.io and our work with Geisinger highlighted in Healthcare Brew. Together with Dr. Alexander Chang, nephrologist and associate professor at Geisinger, we’ve been focused on improving early detection and care for CKD using smartphone-enabled technology. In a recent study, Dr. Chang presented research showing that testing adherence more than doubled when patients used Minuteful Kidney compared to traditional clinic visits. This breakthrough helps patients get earlier access to life-saving treatments, reducing the chances of kidney failure and the need for transplants. As Dr. Chang told Healthcare Brew: “We’re often, as a healthcare system, really looking at patients way too late. In a recent POLITICO feature, our CEO Geoffrey G. Martin highlighted a significant issue in healthcare: the current system still incentivizes treatment over prevention, leaving many patients vulnerable to chronic conditions like kidney disease. Last week, at the American Heart Association’s Hypertension Scientific Sessions in Chicago, Dr Alexander Chang, Associate Professor, Department of Population Health Sciences at Geisinger, presented the results of Phase One of our collaborative study. The results so far have been incredible. Of a population of ~4,000 Geisinger at-risk patients, Minuteful Kidney delivered a 2.5x increase in CKD testing rates compared to usual care - and the numbers were even more pronounced in the hypertension subgroup (53.4% vs 12.5%.) Last week at #AHA24, the results of our collaboration with Geisinger and Boehringer Ingelheim showcased a promising solution for early CKD identification and management with smartphone-enabled home testing. Phase one of the study, involving ~4,000 Geisinger at-risk patients, delivered remarkable outcomes—a 2.5x increase in CKD testing rates with Minuteful Kidney compared to usual care. Even more exciting—preliminary data from Phase 2 shows that 66% of patients with positive results used Minuteful Kidney's in-app scheduling to book appointments with their Geisinger PCP, enabling real-time patient management and follow-up. This milestone data demonstrates the impact of smartphone technologies in transforming CKD care through early detection and proactive intervention. https://lnkd.in/eGx-UKZr

We’re thrilled to announce that Healthy.io will be attending the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Legislative Conference, where we will once again join forces with the National Kidney Foundation. This incredible event brings together leaders, advocates, and stakeholders dedicated to advancing health and wellness. NKF and Healthy.io will offer free testing to at-risk conference visitors using Healthy.io’s Minuteful Kidney test kits on Thursday, September 12th. The exhibition hall will also dedicate time to driving awareness and education around CKD. These activities aim to educate policy makers and attendees about kidney disease and provide accessible resources for early detection and prevention.
