Today, the SQR team is on the move, participating in two pivotal events that aligns with our mission to create a secure, efficient and inclusive digital world through identity verification. ✨ In London: SQR CEO, Shelley Langan-Newton joins techUK’s panel discussion at the Digital ID Summit 2024, exploring the theme: “Driving adoption and take-up of Digital ID: How do we accelerate adoption of Digital Identities in the UK?” With the UK’s Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework shaping the future of identity verification, this Summit gathers industry and government leaders to discuss how Digital ID can transform the digital economy and drive adoption. ✨ In the Isle of Man: Our Head of Strategic Partnerships, Steven Webster, represents SQR at the Digital Isle Tech Awards 2024, where our partner, Sight Matters, is a finalist in the Tech Supporter of the Year category, for their work in creating a user testing scheme pilot. We’re deeply honoured to be part of both of these prestigious events. They highlight the importance of collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation in advancing Digital ID solutions. As a certified provider under the UK Government's Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework, SQR is committed to making Digital ID accessible to everyone, including underserved communities like the blind and visually impaired. Get your votes in now 🗳️ This impactful collaboration with Sight Matters started when, at the Fintech Innovation Challenge 2023 (supported by Isle of Man Government, Digital Isle of Man, Finance Isle of Man and Deloitte), a member of the public approached the SQR Team to understand what we were doing to build technology to better support those with sight loss and visual impairment. The answer was: not enough. In strode Sight Matters to the rescue! Supporting them to launch a pilot programme for User Testing has been one of the highlights of the last 12 months for the SQR Team. We're still on our journey of improvements (more on this as we look to 2025), but we're pleased to say that because of this collaboration we've been able to improve our user experience at each touch point of our app user and customer journey. From launching a new website, to changing our marketing material and developing better in-app functionality. We're committed to making the world a safer place to be for everyone and inclusive user experiences to make sure as many people as possible can use our technology are key to achieving this aim. The introduction of the Data (Use and Access) Bill into UK Parliament marks a significant step forward for digital identity services. As an accredited member of the UK's Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF), SQR is eager to see how these changes unfold. The new bill establishes: 💡 A robust framework for digital ID providers 💡 A public registry of certified providers 💡 A trust mark for easy recognition 💡 Consent-based information sharing with public authorities These measures are set to enhance security, interoperability, and innovation, aligning with “GPG 45” assurance levels.
