🌱 Day 1 at the Food System Dialogue was a success! 🌱 We were excited to showcase some truly unique and sustainable agricultural practices at our stall. Highlighting crops like Barbatti (cowpea) and Sutri (white rajma), which are traditionally grown by the Pahariya community without the use of synthetic fertilizers or compost. These crops thrive naturally, demonstrating the power of working in harmony with nature. In addition, we presented the Saral Ushna (easy parboiler), a steam-based system for parboiling that retains nutrition while being energy-efficient. It’s a great example of how we can innovate without compromising on sustainability. Throughout the day, we shared insights on the importance of local seeds, organic manure, and organic inputs in fostering resilient and sustainable food systems. These practices not only protect the environment but also support the livelihoods of local communities. It’s inspiring to see so many like-minded individuals coming together to explore how we can make agriculture more sustainable for future generations. Celebrating Sports and Team Spirit at the Khel Mahotsava It was an absolute privilege to be part of the Khel Mahotsava organized by Abhivyakti Foundation, in collaboration with Dani Sports Foundation, under the Challenge Project. The vibrant event took place on the inspiring campus of +2 High School, Gandey, and brought together young talent, passion, and community spirit. I was honored to serve as the Anchor for this remarkable occasion, ensuring that every moment resonated with energy and enthusiasm. Additionally, I contributed by extending my support in organizing and coordinating the event to ensure its success. Sports not only nurture physical fitness but also build discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Witnessing the excitement and dedication of the participants was truly rewarding and inspiring. 580 students from 25 schools across Gandey Block took part in it. Kudos to all the players, volunteers, and organizers for making this event a grand success! Together, we are empowering our communities and creating platforms for young talent to shine. 🌿 Team Green Evolution: Empowering Change for a Sustainable Future 🌿 We’re thrilled to share the success of the Kisan Mela organized by Team Green Evolution, supported by WHH India - Welthungerhilfe on January 16th,2025, at Harit Gram Green College, Maniyarpur, Deoghar. The event brought together over 300 farmers from 24 villages, united by a shared vision: transforming agriculture through collaboration and sustainable practices. Key outcome of this event: 🌾 Government Support: People's Representatives including the MLA of Deoghar Shri Suresh Paswan, Mukhiya, Panchayat Samiti and ward members of all panchayats of the Agroecology program, DDC Deoghar Shri Navin Kumar, Block Development Officer Shri VR Barla and officials of block encouraged the farmers and reaffirmed their commitment to addressing challenges like water scarcity, climate change, and promoting organic farming. 🌍 Focus on Climate-Resilient Agriculture: The event highlighted the importance of climate-smart farming techniques, with a focus on indigenous crops and sustainable practices. 🏆 Recognizing Outstanding Farmers: We celebrated local farmers excelling in natural farming, inspiring others to follow their lead. This event is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through community, collaboration, and shared knowledge.
