🌿🐐 Empowering Rural Livelihoods Through Animal Health Camps! 🐐🌿 Our Jharkhand Resource Centre (JRC) recently organized a series of Animal Health Camps across various villages, focusing on improving the well-being of goats and supporting sustainable rural livelihoods. 🏡 These camps provided a platform for: ✅ Veterinary Check-ups: Offering timely diagnosis and treatment for common goat health issues. ✅ Vaccination and Deworming: Preventing diseases and ensuring healthier livestock. ✅ Awareness Sessions: Educating farmers on improved goat-rearing practices, nutrition, and disease prevention. Through these initiatives, we aim to strengthen the rural economy by empowering smallholder farmers with the knowledge and tools to maintain the health of their livestock, which serves as a vital source of income and nutrition. 🎉 Impact Highlights: • Over 650 goats were treated and vaccinated. • Benefitted more than 150 farmers across 5 villages. • Fostered community discussions on sustainable livestock management. Empowering Community through Forest Rights and Sustainable Livelihood Initiatives in Odisha 🌱🌳 Our Odisha Resource Centre recently organized a village-level training program in Upergunji village under Mohuli Gram Panchayat, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from Forest Rights Committee members, Panchayati Raj Institution members, and local community members. The session, led by Mr. Parshuram Pradhan, covered the Forest Rights Act and highlighted both individual and community rights, guiding participants on the application process and the significance of protecting community forests. Special attention was given to the roles and responsibilities of the Forest Rights Committee and management committee members in managing and safeguarding these resources. In addition to forest rights, we are working towards sustainable livelihoods through fruit plantation efforts with crops such as mango, jackfruit, charukali, ritha, sikakai, and phulajhadu. This initiative not only enriches biodiversity but also enables communities to enhance their income by processing forest produce. Together, we are committed to building a sustainable future with informed village development plans, ensuring every member understands their role in strengthening our community forest management systems. Celebrating World Food Day Across Jharkhand, Telangana, and Bihar Our Jharkhand, Telangana, and Bihar Resource Centres marked World Food Day with impactful activities. The Jharkhand team organized quizzes, drawing competitions, and slogan writing to promote the importance of locally available nutritious food, particularly among adolescents. In Telangana, our team reached out to frontline functionaries, pregnant women, and lactating mothers, emphasizing the need for nutrition during crucial stages of life.
