The panel Key takeaways from the session include: 📌 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫: Opening of geospatial sectors through liberal policies has driven the need to establish Geospatial Digital Public Infrastructures like #UnifiedPaymentInterface. Private sector contributions to planning, execution of standards, data aggregation and providing platforms and hubs are vital. 📚 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚’𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞: Curriculum alignment with industry needs and experiential learning centers are critical. Skill programs like the Tamil Nadu Government’s 𝗡𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝗱𝗵𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 bridge critical skill gaps, involving and benefiting all stakeholders. Formal education remains essential for deeper domain understanding. Simplifying geospatial messaging is important to attract young talent. Stakeholders need to engage students early, showcase success stories, and simplify geospatial communication. 🏢 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲: Geospatial Societies can collaborate with the academia and private sector to drive curriculum reform, establish experiential learning centers, and influence policy making. Private sector must invest in technology-enabling centers and contribute to socially relevant projects through innovative application of modern technologies. 🌐 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: U.S. NSDI Vision 2035, UK Geospatial Commission, and Australia’s socio-economic geospatial studies exemplify how private sector played a crucial role in informing policy development and strengthening frameworks.
