India to Boost EV Adoption with Charging Infrastructure and E-Vouchers At a seminar on 'FAME's Success in Transforming India's EV Landscape', Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy announced plans to ensure sufficient charging infrastructure to support the massive adoption of electric vehicles across India. The Ministry of Heavy Industries will soon introduce e-vouchers for EV buyers to take advantage of demand incentives under the newly approved PM E-DRIVE scheme. - Plans to install 10,763 public charging stations across the country under the FAME-II scheme. - The PM E-DRIVE scheme has an outlay of ₹10,900 crore over two years to promote electric mobility. The PM E-DRIVE scheme aims to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles by providing upfront incentives and facilitating essential charging infrastructure. FICCI President and Group CEO & MD, Mahindra Group, Dr Anish Shah, underlined FAME II as among the most transformative policies in India, noting that the electric three-wheeler industry was almost zero three years ago. ACMA India Vice President Vikrampati Singhania, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations Saharsh Damani, Vinod Aggarwal, Sudhendu J. Sinha and others were also present.
