Adil Zainulbhai, Chairman, Capacity Building Commission, held a meeting with Prof. V Ramgopal Rao, Group Vice-Chancellor of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, campuses located in #Pilani, #Hyderabad, #Goa, #Dubai, and #Mumbai. Meeting was attended by Prof. Soumyo Mukherji, Director of BITS Pilani Hyderabad; Prof. Venkataraman PB, Dean of WILP (Work Integrated Learning Programmes); and other senior officials from BITS Pilani. Agenda focused on leveraging BITS Pilani's expertise to develop domain-based courses for the #iGOTKarmayogi platform under #MissionKarmayogi. BITS Pilani will contribute courses through their Center of Excellence (CoE), which includes experts from DRDO and offers specialized programs in national security, cybersecurity, and LEAD (Leadership Development) for education and industry professionals. In addition, domain-specific courses in areas such as design, law, and pharmacy will further enhance the diversity and quality of learning opportunities available on the iGOT Karmayogi platform. This collaboration marks a significant step toward equipping civil servants and professionals with cutting-edge knowledge and skills. On January 3rd, Dr. R Balasubramaniam, Member HR, CBC, visited the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN), Palasamudram, to deliberate on establishing a Case Study Centre under Amrit Gyaan Kosh, India’s repository of indigenous case studies. The discussions focused on exploring the potential of #NACIN becoming the dedicated Case Centre. Joining this insightful dialogue were Shri Gaigongdin Panmei, Principal Director General of NACIN, his team, and Mr. KE Seetha Ram from the Asian Development Bank Institute. Later in the evening, Dr. Balasubramaniam met with Dr. Shalini Rajneesh, Chief Secretary of Karnataka, to discuss capacity-building initiatives in the state, aiming to foster impactful governance and development. Knowledge partnerships are essential for #MissionKarmayogi to build a skilled and competent civil service workforce. By leveraging the expertise of leading institutions, Capacity Building Commission (CBC) ensures civil servants are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to address the dynamic needs of public administration effectively. The Capacity Building Commission and The Kautilya School of Public Policy (KSPP) at GITAM Deemed University, Hyderabad, have signed a Statement of Intent (SoI) to establish a formal knowledge partnership at CBC today. Dr. R Balasubramaniam, Member (HR), CBC, led the proceedings, with Amb. Syed Akbaruddin, Dean KSPP, along with S P Roy, Joint Secretary, CBC, serving as signatories. Ms. Ankita Singh, Deputy Secretary (CBC), and Dr Sharique Hassan Manazir (KSPP) acted as witness signatories with Mr. Rahul Porwal and Ms. Nikita Surana also present. KSPP will provide customized learning resources, specialized training in governance and leadership, and Policy Labs for piloting solutions. Comprehensive needs assessments and online courses will ensure wide-scale and impactful learning opportunities for civil servants across India. Good Governance Day 2024 The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions celebrated Good Governance Day 2024, with a workshop in which all 3 Departments of the Ministry participated and 220 officials attended the workshop. Hon’ble MOS PP Dr Jitendra Singh ji delivered the keynote address, and released the Annual Report of CPGRAMS 2024 and the Compendium of Pension Circulars 2024, in addition to launching the 1600th I-GOT Capacity Building Program, and the Viksit Panchayat Capacity Building Module. On the occasion of concluding celebrations of #GoodGovernanceWeek on the theme of ‘Sushasan Gaon Ki Or’, Minister of State (PP) Dr. Jitendra Singh launched Capacity Building Commission’s initiative of #CapacityBuilding for #ViksitPanchayat. This unique flagship initiative seeks to empower Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) by strengthening governance capabilities, promoting participatory democracy, and fostering localized, citizen-centric governance. This capacity building initiative holistically focuses on building capacity for both the elected members as well as grassroots bureaucrats. A core focus of the initiative is the creation of demonstrable, scalable, and replicable models for capacity building and institutional strengthening.
