Three designers, laptops in hand, reflecting on their skills, and smiles all around. What you’re looking at is just a tiny glimpse into how our design workshop went down. The truth is, learning is the only way we know to stay ahead. We are constantly trying to push limits, evolve, and shake things up, and the best way to do it is to learn together - as a team. It shifts perspective on the way we work and the way we think. So what did we learn? - Recognising individual strengths come together to form a stronger team. 1+1=3. - Sometimes we overlook our superpowers. It helps for a peer to hold a mirror to reinforce our value. - There’s always a lot to learn from each other. Always. It’s insights like these that often become the foundation that holds everything together in the bigger picture. As for the future of design at Distil? It’s looking pretty inspired. - #TeamCulture #MindfulWorkplace #PositiveWorkEnvironment

In business, mindset is everything. But cultivating an entrepreneurial brain takes time and effort. The Embodied Life Method talks about how the body isn’t just a vessel. It’s a guide. In life’s spiral moments, the mind panics. The body? It offers stillness. Most of us think that trusting our gut is about being fearless and bold. But it’s actually quieter than that. Much quieter. Check in with your body, clear your head, and somewhere in the back of your mind, a tiny voice pops out. That’s it. That’s instinct. So, how do you start trusting this voice? Well, like every other skill, you can start by practising it consistently and intentionally. 1. Start small – Tiny decisions. Low stakes. The more you tune in, the sharper your instincts become. 2. Slow down – Instincts whisper. A pull, a tightness, a lightness. Pause and notice it. 3. Cut the noise – Overthinking and opinions cloud clarity. Simply step back and let things settle. 4. Trust the body – The body is a compass. It always knows. Tune in to its signals. 5. Make it a habit – Practice it with smaller decisions and with time, your instinct becomes clearer. No more a guessing game. It’s as simple as that 😌 - #founderthoughts #leadershipjourney #entrepreneurinsights #entrepreneurlife #distilmedia #jigsawthinking Jigsaw Thinking x Distil

I designed my own version of Bill Gates' 'Think Week' and, it was magical!! This wasn’t an escape. It was intentional. A pause with two things in mind. To create space to connect with myself and nature. And to step away from the business and focus on the big picture. For us entrepreneurs, the instinct is always to do more, push harder, and stay plugged in. But constant motion blurs the big picture. It’s important the ‘doing’ is balanced with ‘reflecting.’ The downtime featured many a swims, conversations with new people, movement, and leaning into whims (a good switch for someone who thrives on routine). The ebbs you may call these. During the flows, I let myself put pen to paper. Sitting by the water gave me the space to see things clearly. Zooming out with the ‘Wheel of Life’ exercise, reflecting on where Distil is today, where we’re headed, and how we’ll get there. Just like water, ideas flow when you create room for it. The ocean taught me a simple truth about momentum: It’s not about going fast all the time. It’s about knowing when to ride the wave, when to take a break, and how to prepare for what’s next. And the most valuable connection you can make? The one with yourself. So, whether you’re building, leading, or simply living, give yourself permission to step away. Sometimes, the clearest way forward starts with a pause. --- #entrepreneurship #consciousworking #bigpicturethinking #thinkweek #goalsetting #businessreflections

Five ways to cut the fluff with your marketing strategy – 1. Storytelling, that sells: Build stories that resonate, not just push products. Commit to building emotional connection. 2. Decluttering the chaos: We cut through the noise and focus on what truly matters. Zoom in, zoom out, either way it’s just targeted action. 3. Imagination meets business: Don't shy away from creative ideas, but we always ground them in strategic goals. It's about dreaming big, but with a plan. 4. Holistic growth, not quick wins: Invest in the long haul, building brands that thrive, not just survive. 5. Conscious choices, real results: Anchor yourself to your why, that’s your biggest driver. - #MarketingInsights #ContentStrategy

But, why are we called Distil? I often get that question, and it’s quite a funny (and somewhat serendipitous) story. The thought of building a conscious creative studio stemmed from my personal journey into slow living, and minimalism. It felt inauthentic to be marketing anything that didn’t align with me personally. With that in mind, I laid down the philosophy of the studio. In a fun exercise with Jigsaw Thinking we had to create a tagline for our businesses, a simple way to explain these grand ideas we were working on. ‘Strategy without fluff’ was the best way to describe what we would stand for. Now the big moment, what would we be called? The smart (and might I add cheeky) guys at Jigsaw Thinking gave me a one-week deadline to come up with the name. I paced around my sister’s living room, thinking out loud. “Minimalism. Less. Calm. No fluff. Culling down. Ugh what can it be.” And she suddenly went “Distil?” “Distil!!” And that’s how it stuck. Now, we’ve really come into the name too. It represents our philosophy of distilling out the fluff to reveal pure, effective strategy. Commitment. Transparency. Clarity. It somehow means all this to us. Moral of the story: add constraints to big, scary decisions, surprising things come out of it 🌻 x Dhwani - #MissionDriven #ImpactDrivenBrands #ConsciousMarketing

I had two main goals when I founded Distil. First, to provide marketing solutions without fluff for impact-driven businesses. Second, to find ways to create a genuine impact through the work we do. A few months ago, we had a session to reflect on the larger impact we’re creating and to brainstorm ways to 2x, 3x, 4x our impact. The meeting sparked ideas in all sorts of new directions. We discussed everything – from dream brands to work with, what’s next on our impact radar, how we can prioritise purpose over profit, and sustainable practices (current + aspiring), while reflecting on our impact wins so far. What really struck me through this discussion was that the alignment of every teammate with our larger mission was so clear. We weren’t just on the same page, but also innately anchored by Distil’s overarching mission – – To commit to only working with clients that are creating a genuine impact – To operate as if we’re our clients’ in-house marketing team, not just an external agency – To have an action-oriented approach in the way we work – show, don’t (just) tell – To use our work and the power of marketing toward the “better” – To reimagine what a wholesome working environment looks like (and extend it into our everyday practice outside work) – To define our work by tangible and intangible ways of success/fulfillment These aren’t things we talk about every day, but the mission still connected us in an unsaid way. As a founder, it was incredibly reassuring to see the collective enthusiasm, knowing that we’re TRULY in this together. These moments remind me why I started Distil. To make a meaningful impact through creativity. Exciting days are ahead as we continue to amplify our impact and bring our larger visions to life. A special shoutout to Karishma Gulrajani for helping us pause, reflect, and acknowledge where we’re at and bringing fresh perspectives to where we’re headed. -- #Impact #Culture #MindfulWork

WE’VE LAUNCHED A NEW VERTICAL WHAAAT? 👇🏽 This was long time in the making. Like really long. Like 1.5 years long. And it’s finally here – Distil Creative Collective. A network of creative humans to work with brands and for brands to have easy access to creative humans. So you already know we work with impact-driven businesses. And that our model is to work with a few clients but really immerse ourselves in their strategy and marketing needs. Through this journey, we recognised a gap in collaborations. The process, the people, the struggle of A not finding B. And we built something to bridge this gap. WHAT’S LIVE? Our black book of influencers and UGC creators. Our focus? To work with creators who have nailed two things: aesthetic + effortless storytelling. If you’re a creator who is looking to work with amazing impact-driven brands, join our collective. If you’re a brand looking to humanise your content, work with our collective. If you’re interested, DM US. ALSOOO, Here’s what’s on its way SOON (so keep an eye out): A collective of and for vetted designers, writers, and other creative humans. Solid aesthetics, solid systems. We won’t launch it until we’ve nailed it. But you know what’s coming for you. Call us genie, cause we just granted all your wishes 🧞♂️

We call ourselves a conscious creative studio. What makes us conscious is not just the brands we work with. The intention was to go deeper than that. To create a safe space where we make room for a conscious way of life into our everyday. The other day, I spotted a colleague's status on Slack (screenshot below) that served as two very important reminders – First, to check in with myself, ground myself, and take stock of my day. Second and probably the more important one, a reminder that over three years we've created space for wellness and work to coexist with people who champion it not through big words or actions, but small everyday practices. And that makes me so so proud. At Distil, we know wellness looks different for different people. Or even different for the same people on different days. There's no one way. There's no right way. Either way, we're making way.
