Faculty Development Centre IIT(ISM) Dhanbad hosted the inaugural event of the prestigious Nurturing Future Leadership Program, under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme with great enthusiasm in the presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Director, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad at the i2h building of Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, had the grand inauguration of the interdisciplinary Refresher Training Program for Executives of Coal India Limited on 16th December 2024. The training will be conducted in several batches, and the training for the first batch is scheduled for 16 Dec -30 Dec 2024. The event was attended by distinguished dignitaries such as the honourable Chairman of the Board of Governors, Prof. Prem Vrat, respected Director, Prof. Sukumar Mishra, the Ex-Officiating Director and Deputy Director, Prof. JK Pattanayak, the head of the DMSIE, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, Prof. Sandeep Mondal, and the executives of Coal India Limited (CIL), faculty members, and students. The Program Coordinator, Dr. Shikha S., and Program Co-coordinator, Dr. Preeti Roy, emphasized that today, in this fast-changing world of business, developing an executive program is the most essential process. The business world is becoming volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous, and projects have to be considered based on feasibility and actions to be taken in advance to increase their survival. This Executive Development Program is another step forward in fostering industry-academic collaboration and empowering participants with practical insights for achieving organizational excellence. During the Session, Prof. Prem Vrat, Chairman BoG IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, expressed the strong association of IIT (ISM) with CIL and enlightened the participants with his experiential understanding of engineering management concepts. He added that continuous learning is the only way to improve decision-making capabilities. This program will refresh participants' knowledge and prepare them for technical and strategic decision-making during daily operations and long-term projects. Director IIT(ISM) Dhanbad has also added his long-term vision for this long-duration program for hundreds of CIL executives from different divisions. The program caters to the multifaceted challenges of industrial organizations, particularly with the rising climate concerns and commitments to carbon reduction globally. The course is designed to provide the participant with a holistic understanding of industrial projects' engineering and management aspects.
