🚀 Don't Curse the Darkness; Light a Candle - Chinese Proverb. 🚀 In a world where it's often easier to point fingers at builders, govt, politicians or fate 😂, the residents of Amity Shelters, Bangalore, have set a remarkable example of proactive problem-solving. Faced with the challenge of having no sewage treatment and relying on water tankers, they chose the path of collective action rather than blame. 👍Pooling their resources, the community came together to build their own ECOSTP sewage treatment plant. It wasn’t an easy task—collecting money from the 88 units and dealing with space constraints was challenging. The primary and secondary treatment systems were cleverly designed under the driveway, with the tertiary treatment wetland placed in their garden. Residents now play badminton on this driveway (on top of the STP), showcasing truly biophilic living.🤩 Despite the rain, we filmed the story, with residents narrating how they overcame their challenges (coming soon on YouTube! Stay tuned!). Amity Shelters' approach is a beacon of what can be achieved when individuals and communities collaborate toward a common goal. 🙏Kudos to Amity Shelters RWA for turning a challenge into an opportunity for community empowerment!
