From Vision to Reality At the core of Mailhem's journey lies a bold vision: converting 'Mail' (waste) to 'Hem' (gold). This philosophy not only guides our work but also drives our passion for innovative waste management. Since our inception, we've treated over a million tons of solid waste, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to a cleaner environment. Our story began in 1995 under the leadership of Colonel (Retd.) Suresh Rege, with the first milestone project in 1996 – a Slaughter House Project at Al Kabeer, Hyderabad. This was swiftly followed by pioneering works like the 1st Poultry Litter Biogas Plant at Venkateshwara Hatcheries, Pune in 1997, setting the stage for a series of groundbreaking achievements. Join us in reflecting on our journey of turning waste into resourceful gold. How do you see sustainable waste management shaping our future? "Sustainable Charcoal Production: Exploring Green Technologies" one day seminar organized by the Coconut Development Board (CDB) on 3rd October 2024 at the Golden Jubilee Hall, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore. Alongside my colleague, Srikanth Venkatesh, we represented Organic Recycling Systems Limited and introduced our breakthrough innovation, Sanjeevak Carbonization Systems (SCS). SCS is a cutting-edge solution designed to efficiently convert diverse biomass types into high-quality charcoal, a crucial raw material for producing activated carbon and other eco-friendly coal alternatives. At our ORS - Research Innovation Centre(RIC), we are dedicated to developing new products and technologies focused on waste valorization. We view waste as an untapped resource and remain committed to driving sustainable innovation through systems like SCS that unlock significant value from waste streams. https://lnkd.in/d55UN8ps https://lnkd.in/djVr_Yq7 https://lnkd.in/djVr_Yq7 #GreenTech #WasteToValue #CircularEconomy #SustainableInnovation #BiomassConversion #ActivatedCarbon

During the last weekend, while 60% of Pune was asleep, my team at Minimac Systems Pvt. Ltd. and I went to the outskirts of Kharadi, Pune. Alongside the dedicated green volunteers from Pune Ploggers and Adar Poonawalla Clean City Initiative , we undertook a mission to clean our mother #Earth by collecting dry waste. Together, we collected over 65 bags of dry waste in the vicinity of Sanchit Dam—a commendable effort accomplished within a 45-50 minute drive. #India faces a significant waste management challenge, with an annual generation of 62 million tonnes of waste. Shockingly, only 70% of this waste is collected, and merely 12 million tonnes are treated. The remaining 31 million tonnes find their way into landfills. Alarming projections indicate that municipal solid waste generation could surge to 165 million tonnes by 2030 due to evolving #consumption patterns and rapid economic growth (as reported by The Energy and Resource Institute). As diligent #citizens, we must reflect on our role in safeguarding our Mother Earth. - Responsible #waste segregation and proper #disposal—both at home and in our workplaces—are essential steps. - Refraining from #littering public transportation and roads contributes significantly to maintaining a clean #environment for #future generations. I am doing my part...Are you?

Panel Discussion: Utilizing Digital Innovations for Citizen Engagement and Inclusive Development - Transformative Impact of AI Sanjay Shripatrao Katkar, IAS, Commissioner and Administrator, Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation, Government of Maharashtra (GoM) 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 - Maharashtra has unique urban challenges, with 60% of its population living in urban areas, and 40% concentrated in three regions, including the PMR. - One of the major issues globally is waste management, and in Mira-Bhayandar, we’ve implemented a digital waste management system addressing collection, transportation, and processing. We’ve digitized 282,000 households, achieving an 85% waste segregation rate. Through an app, we track waste segregation from source to disposal, with real-time alerts for unsegregated waste and automated civic actions. - We’ve developed six organic waste management plants to convert waste into biogas and power, generating revenue in the process. Our transportation system includes GPS-enabled tracking and automated fines for delays, ensuring efficiency. - For restaurant waste, we trained staff at 360 establishments, implemented a streamlined collection process, and now use the waste for biogas generation. Additionally, we’ve introduced a coconut waste management system, covering 130 vendors. Specialized vehicles collect 60 metric tons of coconut waste daily, converting it into coir and bio-products, further generating revenue. - These initiatives showcase how digital systems and innovative solutions can tackle urban waste management effectively. #EletsEmergingTech #EmergingTechSummit #TechInBengal #50YearsOfWEBEL #InnovationUnleashed

Saving the planet, one steel bar at a time! 🌎🇮🇳 Imagine a future where steel is super strong, but kind to our planet. That's the dream of a special team from IIT Dhanbad and sentra.world. They're working on a secret weapon: biochar! ♻️ This amazing substance is made from plants 🌱, and it can replace coal in steel production. This isn't just good for the environment (think cleaner air!), it's also good for business. Farmers can sell their crops to be turned into biochar, giving them a new way to make money. India's steel industry will be a leader in sustainability, and the whole world will benefit! #ClimateAction #Biochar #SustainableSteel
