Meet #Preraks Prakash and Shakun - a dynamic duo transforming lives with education in their village in Rajasthan. With a shared passion for education, this couple is helping adolescent girls and young women return to education and prepare for their 10th Grade exams at the Pragati camp. Shivangi* hails from a remote village in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh. Her father worked as a construction worker until an accident left him disabled. With limited income, the family struggled to make ends meet and Shivangi had to drop out of school to help at home. That’s when Educate Girls' Field Coordinator Sangeeta, learned about Shivangi’s situation. She visited the family, understood their struggles and suggested that Shivangi join the nearby Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), a government-run residential school for girls. After multiple attempts, Shivangi's parents agreed to enrol her! Today, Shivangi is thriving at KGBV. With the support of her parents and teachers, she’s not only catching up on her studies but excelling! With the support of Oracle, #EducateGirls collaborates with local communities and the government to ensure that every girl is enrolled in school so that she can achieve her full potential. Thank you, Oracle, for empowering dreams like Shivangi’s and championing girls' education in the most remote villages of India. With #EducateGirls' Pragati, adolescent girls and young women get a #SecondChance at education. This helps them gain self-esteem and confidence and most importantly, not feel any shame and guilt for not having been able to continue school in the past. They reclaim their dreams and build an empowered future for themselves and their communities.

Tanya* from a remote village in Chitrakoot district, Uttar Pradesh, had to drop out of school in grade 5 due to financial hardships. She spent her days helping her mother at home but often missed her books and friends. Enter Archana - Educate Girls’ dedicated Field Coordinator, who discovered Tanya’s situation and wanted to change it. Recognising Tanya’s love for learning, Archana spoke with her parents about the nearby Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV)—a government-run residential school for girls in grades 6-8. Despite initial resistance, Archana’s persistence won over Tanya’s parents. She explained the school’s facilities and arranged for a visit. When Tanya’s father met the staff and learned how well other girls are doing, he got convinced that education could give his daughter a better future. Finally Tanya was enrolled in grade 6. Today, Tanya is thriving at KGBV. She’s studying with determination and making her parents proud! She is proof that persistence and community support can transform lives. #EducateGirls
