Bridging Academia & Industry: A Visit to Eugia Pharma Specialities Ltd. M. Pharm and Ph.D. students from BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus recently had the incredible opportunity to visit the research center of Eugia Pharma Specialities Ltd., gaining firsthand exposure to cutting-edge pharmaceutical research and development. Led by Professor Akash Chaurasiya and Professor Vijay Nimbarte, PhD, under the aegis of Head of Department, Professor Arti Dhar, the visit provided valuable insights into drug formulation, regulatory processes, and advanced manufacturing technologies. A research delegation from #BITS #Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, comprising 23 postgraduate students specializing in Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology, 3 PhD research scholars, and 2 esteemed faculty members, visited Eugia Pharma Research Centre (EPRC) on Saturday, February 15, 2025. The visitors were warmly hosted by our senior associates of EPRC—alumni of BITS Pilani and #BIT #Mesra —who engaged in extensive discussions with the group. The visit included a guided tour of EPRC’s state-of-the-art laboratories, offering valuable insights into the advanced technologies and tools used in the development of generic pharmaceutical products for global markets. The Future-Ready GCC Pharma Summit 2024, in collaboration with Indegene brought together industry leaders, innovators, and experts to discuss transformative ideas and strategies for the future of pharma. The summit began with a welcome address by Sujit Jagirdar, CEO of T-Hub, and a keynote by Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary of Telangana. Attendees also explored the Demo AI Zone, showcasing cutting-edge technologies revolutionizing pharma operations. The first panel discussion, “Pharma GCCs in India – How to Do It Right?”, was moderated by Anantha Krishna, Advisor at Indegene. The panel featured Mrinal Duggal, Head of Global Services, Hyderabad Hub, Sanofi; Nilay Shastri, General Manager, Services and Solutions India, Roche; Shilpa Ahir, Global Lead for GCC Strategy, Performance, and Analytics for GCCs, Sandoz; and Suraj Ravindran, Senior Director, Head of Global Data Management Service Delivery, GSK. Together, they shared insights on building and managing successful global capability centers in India. The second panel discussion, “How GCCs Are Enabling Pharma Companies to Reimagine R&D Processes/Operations,” was moderated by Ram Yeleswarapu, SVP, Enterprise Clinical Solutions, Indegene. Panelists included Vivek Jha, Head of Strategy & Operations at Global Drug Development India, Novartis; Nataraj Kalyanaraman, Vice President, Head of Drug Development, Bristol Myers Squibb; Dr. Nandita Adhikary, R&D Head, Hyderabad Hub, Sanofi; and Dinesh Shenoy PhD, President, R&D, Eugia Pharma Specialities Ltd.
