It's great to see the positive response to our recent post about QA/QC challenges that FACET Facade Consultancy has successfully addressed. Your feedback inspires us to continue championing excellence in every project we undertake. FACET has a long-standing commitment to quality assurance and control, having been involved in QA/QC for the last 8-10 years. While we initially offered these services on a request basis where we identified a need, the post-COVID landscape revealed an increased demand for comprehensive QA/QC oversight. In response, we have launched our QA/QC services as a dedicated, full-fledged offering. Our approach is as flexible as it is thorough, catering to diverse client needs and budgets. We provide tailored solutions, including full-time inspection services, weekly or fortnightly site visits, and even the option for clients to allocate their QA/QC inspector across multiple projects within the same locality. But to an expert, they signal serious risks for a façade’s structural integrity, durability, and safety. 🏗️ Here’s what’s wrong (observations upon various site inspections): Figure 1 - Brackets were installed with anchor distances of 30-50mm instead of the required 120mm, raising serious structural concerns. Figure 2 - Anchors positioned at incorrect angles and bolts left loose, compromising stability. Figure 3 - Anchors placed on PCC rather than RCC, weakening the strength of the bracket connection. Figure 4 - Missing brackets leaving panels unrestrained, risking potential fallout. It's been joy soaking in rare and fabulous blue-sky days in Mumbai while I’m here to celebrate the completion of One Lodha Place - the final piece of our 17-acre, nearly 6 million square foot, Lodha Place Master Plan. Nearly 15 years in the making, it's great to see the entirety of this 5 building, mixed-use commercial office and residential complex finally complete and in use!
