Non-profit Organization Management
A brighter future for people and the planet. Vital solutions for food and land use systems delivering for all.
About us
Established in 2017, the Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU) is a community of organisations and individuals committed to the urgent need to transform the way we produce and consume food and use our land for people, nature and climate. We support science-based solutions and help build a shared understanding of the challenges and opportunities to unlock collective, ambitious action. We build on the work of the Food, Agriculture, Biodiversity, Land Use and Energy (FABLE) Consortium teams which operate in more than 20 countries. Our strength comes from a growing community of country platforms, core partners, FOLU Ambassadors, funders, connecting those who share our mission: to ensure food and land use systems play their full role in delivering on the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement to ensure the future prosperity of all people and to protect and restore our planet’s vital ecosystems. Food and land use systems involve every factor in the ways land is used and food is produced, stored, packed, processed, traded, distributed, marketed, consumed and disposed of. We bring together the public and private sectors, the research community and civil society, to harness expertise and enable systems thinking approaches. We are committed to the urgent need for food and land use transformation to create a healthier planet and healthier people. Get involved today if you have something to bring to the table. It is in all our hands.

🌱 Rainfed Agriculture: A Pillar of Resilient Food Systems 🌾 Watch Dr. Sabyasachi Das, National Coordinator of RRA Network, delivering the Rainfed Thematic Pavilion Summary at the Food Systems Summit 2024 in Delhi. This powerful presentation sheds light on the indispensable role of rainfed systems in India’s food security, climate resilience, and rural livelihoods. 📹 Watch here: https://lnkd.in/g7dm85Af Dr. Das underlines the importance of integrating traditional knowledge, collaborative partnerships, and innovative practices to transform rainfed landscapes. The session highlighted actionable pathways for scaling solutions that balance ecology and economy—reinforcing rainfed agriculture as a cornerstone of sustainable food systems. “Water has been one of the central themes of #RainfedArea management. Instead of prioritising infrastructure for irrigation, we need to view rainfed water management from the lens of co-creation of the water sources and their joint management through local governance systems and communities. This requires unlocking investments at scale.” A special thanks to all partners who made the Rainfed Thematic Pavilion a success. Together, we’re driving meaningful change for resilient agriculture! 💪🌾 Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU), Bharat Krishak Samaj, TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute, WRI India, franklin khobung, Ajay Vir Jakhar, WASSANIndia #RainfedAgriculture #FoodSystems2024 #SustainableFarming #ClimateAction #RRA #ClimateResilience
