Bibby Marine , a UK-based #maritime firm, has placed an order for one commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) with Spain’s ARMON SHIPYARDS. The vessel will feature a battery system complemented by dual-fuel #methanol engines, enabling it to run in fully electric or hybrid mode. With the capability to operate solely on battery power for a typical full day of operations, the range of the vessel will allow for passage from field to port and return. Korean medium-sized #shipbuilding company K Shipbuilding has successfully developed a medium-sized chemical product carrier powered by #ammonia dual fuel. On the 10th, K Shipbuilding noted that it received the Approval In Principle (AIP) for the ammonia dual-fuel medium-sized chemical product carrier from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) on the 30th of last month. In #Germany, Bayer and Neste announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly scale winter canola as a biomass-based feedstock for renewable products like #biofuels. Within the collaboration, the companies are going to develop a winter canola #ecosystem in the Southern Great Plains of the US, including product development and additional collaborations to enable Bayer to enter this market. Marine fuels supplier Monjasa has chartered its first dedicated #LNG bunker vessel which is expected to be deployed in the #UnitedArabEmirates (UAE) in January 2025. As disclosed, Monjasa chartered Green Zeebrugge, NYK’s 2017-built LNG bunker vessel with a 5,000 cubic meter capacity, in Amsterdam in November 2024 as it prepares to introduce LNG as a new marine fuel option in the UAE.
