  • Meta is once again trying out a dislike button for comments, this time on Instagram, in the hopes of establishing more signals that it can use to downrank comments that users find to be overly negative and/or harmful to their in-app experience. The feature is designed to address harmful comments rather than disagreement. But it isn't like downvoting a comment on YouTube or Reddit because these won't be public, and there won't be a total downvote tally shown. Dislike button has been talked about for years and we might finally see it. Instagram has officially confirmed that it is testing a new feature allowing users to dislike comments on posts and reel videos. After months of speculation, Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, recently revealed in a Threads post that this feature aims to enhance the overall experience of conversations on the platform.
