Last week, amidst the serene beauty of Mumbai's Jade Garden, we celebrated Finland's rich cultural heritage and its deep-rooted values of family, simplicity, transparency, and hard work. The event was graciously hosted by Hon. Consul-General Erik af Hällström, his wonderful wife Nina af Hällström, and Deputy Consul-General Eva Nilsson. We were also honored by the presence of Ambassador of Finland to India Hon. Kimmo Lähdevirta, who graced the occasion with their support and inspiring words. From the joyous performances of children showcasing traditional Finnish ring dances to Nina’s elegant folk dress, the evening was a perfect blend of culture, nostalgia, and camaraderie- beautifully reflecting the natural harmony between Finland and India. It was a pleasure to attend this special evening with my life partner Tushar Dogra and reconnect with friends and mentors like Pawan Bhatnagar, Stanny J D, Manoj Gursahani, and Venkatesh R. Hearing Consul-General Erik af Hällström speak about Finland and India’s 75 years of diplomatic relations, highlighting human rights, happiness, and partnership, was truly inspiring. Equally noteworthy was Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee IAS's address on Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) infrastructure developments and the role of global collaborations in driving progress.
