From classroom learning to hands-on engagement, read Sania’s (name changed to protect privacy) story about her project for the school science exhibition. 📣This post is the last of a three-part series about the science exhibition at Gangamma Hombegowda Girls High School held in December 2024. 🤝🏽The IT for Change team worked closely with the students, guiding them through the process of designing their projects and their final presentation. This engagement is part of the Hosa Hejje Hosa Dishe (A New Step in a New Direction) adolescent girl empowerment project, supported by BT Group and British Asian Trust.

Happy New Year! 📣We're thrilled to present the latest episode of 'Nan Voice Nan Choice' (My Voice, My Choice), a Kannada podcast featuring candid conversations with adolescent girls from Karnataka's government high schools. Through these discussions, students share their perspectives and experiences of adolescence. ✨The girls are members of Kishori Clubs - dedicated safe spaces within schools that foster empowerment through four key pillars: awareness, articulation, aspiration, and agency. At the United Nations #IGF2024, I had the privilege of organizing and presenting the session on "Information Integrity: Human Rights and Platform Responsibilities", a joint initiative by the Dynamic Coalition on Platform Responsibility (DCPR) and the Internet Rights and Principles Coalition (IRPC). The session focused on the concept of #informationintegrity and the role of platforms in safeguarding #humanrights. A big thank you to our speakers: Ana Ruelas (UNESCO), Merrin Muhammed Ashraf (IT for Change), Mayra Costa (Brazil's SECOM), and Dennis Redeker (IRPC), and to the heroes-moderators, Tapani Tarvainen, Ramon Costa, and Giullia Thomaz, for guiding the conversation so thoughtfully. As our outcome for this year, DCPR launched the "Platform Responsibilities for Information Integrity" paper. I have the pleasure of being one of the co-authors with Luca Belli, Rolf H. Weber, Merrin Muhammed Ashraf, Anita Gurumurthy, Giullia Thomaz, Lorena Abbas, Roxana Radu, Marina Lucena, and Nicolo Zingales. The paper looks at the challenges around information integrity and outlines platform responsibilities in protecting human rights.
