Students in Class 7 and 8 are using MS Excel to develop digital literacy and computational skills. They are learning to create spreadsheets, input data, and use formulas to automate calculations. For example, they use the SUM formula for addition (=SUM(A1:A5)) and simple subtraction formulas (=A1-A2). These activities help students practice arithmetic, while also gaining experience with Excel's functionality, enhancing their problem-solving and organizational skills for future use with more complex data. In Bihar’s Dumra village, teacher Kumari Sudha brings joy to her classroom through stories, poetry, and art. The children's library at the primary school in Dumra initially didn't see a lot of footfall. It was not until Sudha put her Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs) to use and transformed the library space into a vibrant hub of learning. She encouraged a love for reading and storytelling, organizing art and craft activities so kids find their space for creativity and self-expression. The engaging games and reading captivating stories aloud helped ignite the imagination in their young minds. Inspired by Sudha's efforts, Karunodaya Foundation through their Literacy and Library Program, has trained 63 teachers across 32 schools, helping 1,500 students read 8,756 books and 102 teachers read 1,200 books.
