Biodynamic bio·dy·nam·ic Biodynamic agriculture is a form of alternative agriculture based on pseudo-scientific and esoteric concepts initially developed in 1924 by Rudolf Steiner (1861–1925). It was the first of the organic farming movements. It treats soil fertility, plant growth, and livestock care as ecologically interrelated tasks, emphasizing spiritual and mystical perspectives. Makaibari is guided by a mix of traditional agricultural wisdom and some wonderful biodynamic farming principles as suggested by Steiner.

Makaibari's Biodynamic Legacy Founded in 1859, Makaibari holds the distinction of being not only the oldest tea estate in Darjeeling but also the world's pioneer in biodynamic tea farming. Drawing inspiration from the movements of celestial bodies, Makaibari follows a cosmic calendar set to the rhythm of stars, moon, and planets for optimal time for tea leaf plucking during the harvest season from March to October.
