With the rapid advancement of technology, Integrated Circuits (ICs) have become an integral part of everyday devices. However, this progress also brings significant privacy and security challenges. * Privacy Risks: ICs collect and process vast amounts of data, raising concerns over unauthorized access and misuse. Robust encryption and security protocols are critical to safeguarding user information. * Piracy Challenges: The illegal reproduction and cloning of ICs threaten intellectual property rights, infiltrate supply chains, and pose serious risks to safety and reliability. The semiconductor industry faces billions of dollars in losses due to IP infringements. The need for secure design practices and effective management has never been more urgent. Explore these pressing challenges in our latest whitepaper on ‘Privacy & Piracy Issues in Hardware’. **Exploring the Future of Federated Learning in Healthcare Security** NCoE’s latest whitepaper dives deep into Federated Learning (FL) and its transformative potential in healthcare, especially in improving security and privacy while managing sensitive medical data. In the paper, we explore how FL, leveraging techniques like differential privacy and secure aggregation, can mitigate key risks such as data leakage and model inversion attacks. However, challenges still persist, such as: * Handling heterogeneous data and devices * Ensuring efficient communication and computation * Addressing the non-IID nature of healthcare data These hurdles make FL deployment in healthcare complex and present significant logistical, ethical, and technical obstacles. To unlock its full potential, future research must focus on creating scalable, reliable algorithms that balance patient confidentiality with the management of distributed, heterogeneous datasets. By addressing these challenges, federated learning could revolutionize healthcare, enabling preventive and personalized medicine while safeguarding patient privacy.
