New Study Published in Academic Radiology: AI-Driven Lung Nodule Detection with qXR We’re pleased to share the findings of a study by Qure.ai, recently published in Academic Radiology. Conducted as part of our #regulatory submission to the #FDA for 510(k) clearance, this study evaluated the performance of our #lung nodule detection algorithm, qXR-LN. The multi-reader, multi-case (MRMC) assessment involved chest X-rays (CXRs) from 40 different US hospitals and demonstrated an impressive sensitivity of 94%. Notably, the study highlighted the value of #AI as a second reader in significantly improving human detection of nodules: • 46.4% reduction in missed nodules per reader (P < .001) • No significant increase in false positives These findings underscore the potential of AI in enabling #radiologists and non-radiology physicians to detect and localise #lungnodules with greater accuracy, reducing missed diagnoses and supporting earlier #lungcancer detection. Why This Matters Lung #cancer often first appears as non-calcified nodules on chest X-rays—the most widely used imaging modality in the diagnostic pathway. While CT remains the gold standard for detection, the accessibility of CXRs makes them critical in early lung cancer identification. This study demonstrates how AI can bridge the gap, enhancing detection rates and reducing diagnostic errors in routine clinical practice. Aligned with Qure.ai’s mission, this study reinforces the transformative potential of AI-powered solutions to improve radiology workflows, reduce missed diagnoses, and enhance patient outcomes.
