The Department of Scientific Computing, Modeling & Simulation (SCMS), Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, India, was established in July 2020 for (a) promoting scientific computing, modeling and simulation methodologies; (b) encouraging and supporting truly multi-disciplinary, problem-centric approaches to basic and applied research; (c) transcending traditional boundaries separating knowledge disciplines; and (d) keeping abreast with high-performance and other computing technologies. We have expertise in curriculum design and implementation in higher STEM education & training, research expertise in diverse areas of computational & statistical science, and data-intensive research. The department was established by merging the Interdisciplinary School of Scientific Computing (ISSC: 1994-2020) and the Centre for Modeling & Simulation (CMS: 2003-20).
