About us
Since its inception in 1985, SP Ultraflex Systems (P) LTD. has played a vital role in the evolution of Converting Slitter Rewinders in South-East Asia. Traditionally considered as mere ancillaries, slitter rewinders are now sourced with the due diligence that accompanies the purchase of higher value equipment such as Printing Presses and Lamination equipment. Deservedly so, since slitting rewinding is the final converting operation and the finish of slit reels is the proverbial “first impression” given to the customer. Keeping pace with developments in related equipment such as Printing, Lamination and Packing machines, there has been a constant metamorphosis in the design of converting slitters, particularly in respect of the speeds, drives, changeover mechanisms and material handling options. SP Ultraflex is proud to have spearheaded these innovations at every stage, as propagandists, as underwriters and as pioneers. The production facility is located in Mira Road, Thane, a forty-minute drive from Mumbai airport. Our Vision: To be the most preferred supplier, customer, employer and partner in the industry. The PRIMASLIT® RL (Rear Loading) Slitter Rewinder is inspired by the very first version manufactured by SP Ultraflex, namely the DSR RL, which accompanied the Rotogravure Presses and Laminators manufactured by SP Ultraflex between the years 1985 and 2005. The eternal workhorse of the industry, the PRIMASLIT® RL has the unwind, cutting and rewind sections assembled on a common frame with the unwind positioned at the rear, to allow bigger diameters on both the unwind and rewind. This machine presently runs at up-to 600 mpm and can be upgraded with advanced material handling mechanisms at both the unwind and rewind. Going the Extra Mile: Our Commitment Beyond Commissioning🙌 At SP Ultraflex, our commitment doesn’t end with machine commissioning; it extends far beyond to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.😃 During our recent participation at the Arabplast Exhibition in Dubai 🇦🇪 (7th to 9th January), we had the pleasure of reconnecting with one of our esteemed customers whose machine had been running successfully for nearly a year. Their feedback was overwhelmingly positive—the machine was performing exceptionally well📈, competing head-to-head with their existing European slitters. However, they mentioned a minor concern😟:their team was facing some challenges in fully utilizing the rotary cutters, primarily due to operational unfamiliarity. While this wasn’t a pressing concern for them, as they had other slitters handling rotary cutting tasks, we at SP Ultraflex view things differently. For us, delivering a machine that meets every promised functionality is paramount. We believe that no operator should ever feel limited by a lack of understanding or operational nuances. Instead of settling for a handshake 🤝 and a 😊, we took proactive steps. Fortunately, one of our engineers 🧑💻 was already in Dubai for an ongoing turret machine installation. We decided to extend his stay to visit the customer’s facility, provide hands-on support, and ensure their team could unlock the full potential of the rotary cutters. Not only did we resolve the operational challenge and enhance their understanding, but in the process, the customer discovered that their machine could efficiently slit 225 GSM paper board substrate—a capability that wasn’t even discussed during the machine finalization stage. This further demonstrated how future-proof our machines are, offering value beyond initial expectations. For the customer, this might have seemed like a minor inconvenience today, but for us, addressing it now meant preventing potential challenges in the future. Seeing their satisfaction and confidence in our support reaffirmed why we do what we do.
