The COVID-19 pandemic turned the world upside down, and schools had to switch to online classes almost overnight. While adults were still figuring out Zoom meetings and college students trying to adjust to virtual lectures, younger students faced an even tougher challenge: learning in an unfamiliar, digital environment. It wasn’t easy, but we all learned and adapted. At StartupYou, we tried different engaging ways to make online sessions more interactive—and they worked! Do you want to know our secret? ✅ 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: We start with a collaborative activity or game to grab students’ attention in the first 10 minutes. ✅ 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵: With a maximum of 25 students, one facilitator leads the session while the other monitors chat and engagement levels. ✅ 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴: We encourage students to communicate through chat or audio first and gradually make them feel comfortable turning on their cameras. (𝘛𝘪𝘱: 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘴; 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘢 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴!) ✅ 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: We use visually appealing slides to keep students hooked throughout the session. ✅ 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: We incorporate digital tools like Padlet, Coggle, Canva whiteboards, Zoom polls, quizzes, and Google Forms to encourage participation and idea-sharing. ✅ 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Recognizing students’ efforts, whether it’s asking questions, sharing ideas, or actively participating in activities, helps boost their confidence. Every small step is acknowledged and celebrated to keep the energy high! ✅ 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀: Breakout rooms allow students to collaborate in smaller groups, enabling deeper discussions and teamwork. Facilitators drop in to provide guidance and ensure participation. Have you tried these strategies in your online classes? Which one do you think works best? 🚀 Empowering Educators to Nurture Innovation at Indus Altum International School, Belagavi 🚀 From January 6th to 8th, two of our expert faculty members had the privilege of collaborating with Indus Altum International School to: ✅ Foster Teacher Professional Development – Supporting teachers in adopting a creative mindset through our Train-the-Trainer model (Teacher Designers). ✅ Enhance Innovation-Focused Curriculum – Elevating lesson plans with a creative and problem-solving approach. Indus Altum International School (IAIS) has always welcomed us with warmth and hospitality, and we continue to be amazed by the knowledge they share, enriching the learning experience. We were inspired by the school's unwavering commitment to fostering creativity and innovation by empowering teachers, the true pillars of student development. Our faculty also had the pleasure of interacting with few students, engaging in insightful discussions about their projects. A heartfelt thank you to the IAIS team for this wonderful opportunity. ✨ Exams Coming Up? You’ll Want to See This! ✨ Struggling to stay focused or manage your study time? Here’s how you can study smarter, not harder! With exams around the corner, many students find themselves difficult to manage their time and study efficiently. Here are 5 effective study techniques from StartupYou that students can apply to their daily study sessions: 1️⃣ Create a To-Do List: Writing down your tasks and prioritizing them helps you stay organized and focused. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, you know exactly what needs to get done. 2️⃣ Set Clear Goals: Each study session should have a clear goal. Whether it’s completing a chapter or mastering a concept, goal-setting helps you stay on track and motivated. 3️⃣ Time Blocking: Time blocking allows you to dedicate uninterrupted blocks of time for each subject. Set an alarm or reminder to ensure you’re focused during those periods and avoid distractions. 4️⃣ Mind Mapping: When tackling complex subjects, mind mapping can make it easier to visualize and organize information. It’s a great way to connect ideas and help you retain them better. 5️⃣ Take Breaks: Studying for hours without a break leads to burnout. Taking short breaks helps you refresh your mind, so you can maintain focus and absorb more information. At StartupYou, we focus on empowering students with these techniques and more to help them boost productivity, manage their time better, and approach learning with creativity and critical thinking. 🚀 Want to learn how these techniques can help your child or students? 🌟 Design Thinking: Revolutionizing Learning in Schools 🌟 In today’s world, Design Thinking has moved from MNCs and design schools to classrooms, reshaping how students think, learn, and solve problems. With NEP 2020 integrating it into the curriculum, this approach fosters creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving at secondary levels. But what is Design Thinking, and why does it matter for schools? Design Thinking is a hands-on, user-centered process that enables students to solve real-world challenges by exploring, brainstorming, testing, and refining solutions. It’s not just about creating innovative products—it’s about finding meaningful solutions to everyday problems. How Design Thinking Transforms Schools: 1️⃣ Hands-On Learning Students move beyond theory, engaging in problem-solving, experimentation, and practical applications that bring concepts to life. 2️⃣ Empathy Development By understanding others’ needs and emotions, students approach challenges with compassion and teamwork, creating impact-driven solutions. 3️⃣ Creativity Unleashed Encourages bold thinking and innovative ideas without the fear of failure, nurturing students’ imagination and originality. 4️⃣ Real-World Problem Solving From managing cluttered spaces to improving group collaboration, students learn to address everyday challenges with practical solutions. 5️⃣ Collaboration Skills Team-based projects sharpen communication, respect for diverse viewpoints, and the ability to build solutions collectively. 6️⃣ Builds Resilience By embracing failure as a step toward improvement, students develop a growth mindset and the confidence to tackle uncertainties. At StartupYou, we have already partnered with several schools and empowered over 5,000 students with the principles of Design Thinking. Our expert faculty, hailing from prestigious design schools, business schools, and corporate backgrounds, bring their rich experience to create impactful learning experiences. 💡 Let’s create a generation ready to tackle tomorrow’s challenges with creativity and confidence. 📌 Interested in bringing Design Thinking to your school? 🌟 "Are we preparing students for the world of tomorrow, or just for the next exam?" 🌟 Schools and parents are doing incredible work nurturing young minds and helping them grow through academics and extracurriculars. But the future demands more than just academic excellence—it calls for skills that empower students to think differently , collaborate, and create. Today’s students face some significant challenges: 📚 Overloaded schedules leave little room for creativity. 🤐 Lack of confidence makes students hesitate to express themselves. 📱 Gadget overload often replaces meaningful learning. 🏃♂️ Pressure to perform limits the exploration of natural talents. 🤝 Teamwork struggles hinder students from developing collaborative skills. At StartupYou, we focus on nurturing future-ready skills to help students thrive and stand out: 1️⃣ Solve Creatively Creativity inspires students to think outside the box and develop fresh solutions to everyday challenges. It encourages innovation and originality in both simple and complex situations. 2️⃣ Collaborate Empathetically Collaboration is about teamwork and understanding diverse perspectives. By empathizing with others, sharing ideas, and working together, students foster strong connections and an inclusive mindset. 3️⃣ Think Critically Critical thinking enables students to evaluate situations logically, ask insightful questions, and solve complex problems with clarity and understanding. 4️⃣ Build Digital Literacy In today’s tech-driven world, digital literacy is crucial for success. At StartupYou, we integrate multiple digital tools into our sessions to enhance students' research, presentation, and problem-solving skills while building a solid foundation for navigating the digital landscape. 5️⃣ Communicate Effectively Strong communication empowers students to express ideas clearly and confidently. From answering questions in class to presenting ideas to peers or engaging in meaningful discussions, communication skills prepare them to thrive in real-world scenarios. 💡 At StartupYou, we believe every child has the potential to innovate, collaborate, and thrive in today’s dynamic world.
