Volunteering is more than an act of kindness, it’s the foundation of stronger, more inclusive communities. It’s the unspoken bond that unites people to create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported. Through every cleanliness drive, awareness session, and visit to schools and homes, Tata Steel Foundation’s volunteers are not just contributing their time but planting seeds of progress that grow quietly and transform lives. Their efforts build an unseen network of hope, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment that shapes the future of communities. This is the power of coming together for a purpose greater than oneself. Let’s honour this incredible spirit of volunteerism and the lasting impact it creates. In a remote village Duburi, Odisha, dreams of stepping out and making a difference were once out of reach for many young women. But today, 36 women have rewritten their stories, thanks to the Ophthalmic Nursing Assistant (ONA) training programme. This initiative is more than just skill-building—it’s about empowering women from marginalised communities to bridge gaps in healthcare while earning a dignified livelihood. For some, it’s a chance to assist in restoring vision; for others, it’s about proving that dreams can defy limitations. With 11 graduates now working in esteemed eye care centres, earning ₹15,000 a month, and 10 more joining the new cohort, the ripple effect is clear: empowered women transform families, communities, and beyond. Together, let’s continue to support these changemakers and create a future where opportunities are within reach for all. #WomenInHealthcare #SkillToEmpower #HealthcareEquality #BuildingFutures #TataSteelFoundation #ONAProgramme #CommunityChange [Women In healthcare, Skill To Empower, Healthcare Equality, Building Futures, Tata Steel Foundation, ONA Programme, Community Change]

Languages are the essence of identity, connecting us to our roots and traditions. In villages like Bajrapali in Kalinganagar district of Odisha, efforts to teach the Warang Chiti script of the Ho language are sparking pride among young learners. Through songs, dances, and creative teaching methods, children from diverse educational backgrounds are embracing their heritage. As one learner, Xavier Tamsoy, shares, “I learned about numbers, colours, and seasons.” Preserving tribal languages ensures that generations to come carry forward the legacy of their culture with pride and confidence. #TribalLanguages #WarangChiti #HoLanguage #CulturalIdentity #LanguagePreservation #HeritageThroughLanguage [ Tribal Language, Warang Chiti, Ho Language, Cultural Identity, Language Preservation, Heritage Through Language]
