Reflections from Retreat: Three Days of Laughter, Trust, and the Bonds That Shape Us Every team has its routines, the daily grind that defines what we do and, too often, who we think we are. But for three days in Coimbatore, we stepped out of that rhythm and into something else entirely. Our time at the retreat was a collation of cricket on the terrace and a “Mine Game” that, somehow, turned us all into strategists and kids again. We danced like no one was watching and laughed until our voices turned hoarse. These moments though small, felt big. And then there were the quieter moments—the kind of conversations that only happen when there’s no clock to watch. It was surprising, even humbling, to discover what we hadn’t known about one another. There was a quiet, almost unsaid acknowledgment: these are the people we rely on, the ones who help shape our work and our days. This retreat reminded us why we are a team. We left with more than memories; we left with a renewed sense of purpose. And perhaps that’s the real takeaway of any retreat! not the games, the laughter, or even the shared stories, but the understanding that work is not just about what we do. It’s about who we do it with. Because in the end, it’s not just about reaching goals, it’s about reaching them together. Here's to the power of shared experiences and the beauty of a team united by trust, respect, and a shared mission. #VidhyaVidhai #ChangeFacilitators #TeamRetreat #FindingJoy #BuildingConnections #WorkplaceCulture #Purpose #Education #SDG4

We take pride in sharing Ms. Nithya’s story, which exemplifies the #GEM Report’s vision of school leadership. During the #LearnersFest, Grade 7 students at ADW School, Anakaputhur, identified inadequate sanitary facilities as a key issue and proposed installing sanitary pad dispensers and incinerators to prevent girls from missing school. Recognizing the significance of their initiative, Headmistress Ms. Nithya Sai Lakshmi swiftly mobilised funds, including a personal contribution of ₹11,000, to implement the solution, well ahead of state mandates. This #leadership goes beyond problem-solving—it fosters safe, supportive spaces for students and brings their ideas to life. Ms. Nithya’s actions bring the GEM report’s vision to life, showcasing how empathetic and decisive school leaders can create a lasting impact in education. #VidhyaVidhai #SDG4 #GEMReport #Schools #Education #QualityEducation #StudentLed #WomenLeaders #ChildCentered

It's 4pm on a Friday, and a nervous student enters the Head Master’s (HM) room with a proposal to launch Silambam training, a regional sport for interested students. The HM keenly listens to the student and affirms actions to take forward the idea. This conversation helped the student to believe, "I’ve made a difference in my school." "Coffee with HM" is a weekly platform for students, parents, and teachers to engage with the Head Master and discuss ideas for school growth. This is launched at Municipal Higher Secondary School, Hasthinapuram, fostering open dialogue, nurturing leadership, and values every voice in the school ecosystem. Tag a school or a school leader who can adopt this approach to ensure a child-centric school. We’re delighted to share a special moment from our journey in supporting teachers with innovative tools and technology! In collaboration with the Coimbatore District Education Department, our DEEP (District Education Empowerment Programme) Team conducted digital learning sessions for government school teachers in Coimbatore. These sessions explored how smart boards, pedagogical videos, and other digital tools can simplify teaching while creating vibrant, student-focused classrooms. Inaugurated by the Secondary and Elementary District Education Officer, the event sparked incredible energy. A WhatsApp group with 600 primary teachers and 150 higher secondary teachers has been created for effective collaboration and resource sharing. This is just the beginning of an inspiring journey towards tech-driven education, and we’re honoured to be a part of it! Chasing Dreams: Nagapattinam’s Chess Stars Aim for National Glory! Excited to see The Hindu highlighting the pioneer progress of the Nagapattinam government schools' chess initiative under our District Education Empowerment Programme (DEEP). A successful district-level chess tournament was held recently by the Nagapattinam District Education Department, DEEP Nagai, and CHESS BISHOP. This programme aims to mentor young chess players and encourage them to compete on national and international platforms. It was inaugurated by the Honourable District Collector, Mr. P. Akash and the Chief Education Officer, Ms. M. K. C. Subashini. This tournament marks the first competitive platform for 150+ students, who undergo weekly training under this initiative.
