Village Social Transformation Foundation

Village Social Transformation Foundation in collaboration with Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA), Hon. Balasaheb Thackeray Agribusiness and Rural Transformation (SMART) Project and Department of Agriculture had organized a #Capacity Building workshop on Empowering Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). The workshop focused on Strengthening of the FPOs, Expediting benefits/coverage of the various government schemes and Convergence with Village Social Transformation Foundation 's Mission MahaGram in Solapur district. Village Social Transformation Foundation Mission MahaGram is being implemented in 8 district of Maharashtra with the generous support from IDBI Bank and General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re). Hon. Shri. Praveen Pardeshi, CEO Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA) and Managing Director Village Social Transformation Foundation chaired the meeting and guided the FPOs and Officials on following Key areas 1. Strengthening of Farmer Producer Companies and leveraging government schemes and programs 2. Undertaking assessment to study possibilities of setting up Tur Dal Mill (Akkalkot), Oil extraction plant (Barshi), MurGrass (Karmala) and Banana Processing (Pandharpur) 3. SAO, Solapur, VSTF and MITRA YP's to take lead with concern departments and authorities to develop and implement above indicative projects. Shri. Ashok Kirnalli, Agriculture Director ATMA, Shri. Shukracharya Bhosale, SAO Solapur, Shri. Prof. Dr. Parashram Patil , Senior Advisor (Agriculture) Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA), Dilipsing Bayas, Joint Chief Executive Officer Village Social Transformation Foundation, Shri. Jeevan Bunde guided the participants on various aspects. RIU Head- Agriculture, Sachin Borse YP MITRA and Kedar P., YP MITRA and Team Village Social Transformation Foundation PIU VSTF and Agriculture Department facilitated the group discussion.
