  • "I used to worry about my daughter's future every day," says Iqra's* father. Living close to the massive dumping ground, the air reeked of garbage, and the constant buzz of flies was inescapable. Their tiny rented house, made of pacca walls, had no toilet, no water connection, and only a single light and fan. Her father, a plumber, had migrated from Bihar for a better future for his family. Iqra, just four and a half years old, spent her days playing on the narrow streets. Her mother longed for her to study, but couldn’t afford a school. But things began to change when Vision Rescue’s community champions visited their neighbourhood. They spoke about the importance of education and offered free enrollment into the Beacon Learning Centre (BLC). That’s how Iqra joined in 2023. "Iqra was shy and quiet when she first came to class," recalls her teacher. "But slowly, she began to bloom." Her mother adds, "Iqra’s confidence amazes me. She even helps me at home and tells me about everything she learns." Iqra dreams of becoming an army officer. Her mother also benefited from Vision Rescue's vocational training courses, learning mehndi and beautician and haircare skills, which helped her earn an income. "I feel proud that I can support my family," says Iqra's mother. Thank you, dear donors, for bringing hope to families like Iqra’s. Your kindness is lighting up lives. ___________ To partner with us, click https://lnkd.in/gps8bpsD #VisionRescue #ReachingoutwithLove

  • Jamila* is only four and lives in a tiny home near Mumbai’s massive dumping ground with her parents and little brother, where the air always smells of garbage. Her father works tirelessly as a labourer, earning Rs. 12,000/- a month—barely enough to keep the family afloat. The family has no toilet at home and must pay to use a community toilet. Most nights, there’s just enough to cover groceries, leaving little room for other needs. When Vision Rescue’s CCC visited their neighbourhood, Jamila was found playing barefoot in the dusty alley. She wasn’t going to school, and her parents hadn’t thought much about her education. But they wanted a better future for her. That’s when Jamila joined the Beacon Learning Center (BLC) in 2023, where she received her first uniform, her first set of books, and the nutrition she needed. Slowly, her world began to change. From learning the alphabet to speaking confidently in class, Jamila has made remarkable progress. Jamila’s mother expressed, “I never got the chance to study, but when I see Jamila reading and writing, I feel happy and hopeful.” Jamila dreams of becoming a soldier one day. Your kindness has already planted the seeds of change in Jamila’s life. Thank you for believing in children like Jamila and giving them a chance to dream. ___________ To partner with us, click https://lnkd.in/gps8bpsD #VisionRescue #ReachingoutwithLove #EducationForAll #DreamsComeTrue

  • Asma* and her family faced new challenges every day, making life a constant struggle. But when Asma’s parents heard about Vision Rescue through a Community Champion, their lives began to shift in a way they never imagined. In 2023, Asma was enrolled at the Beacon Learning Centre (BLC), where she began to read and write. Her cheerful smile and eager spirit light up the classroom, inspiring those around her. She went from being a shy little girl to confidently joining in-class activities and reciting poems. Slowly, she started believing in her ability to learn, and she now dreams of becoming a doctor. Currently, she is in Junior KG and is excelling in her studies. The change didn’t stop with Asma. Her mother, encouraged by our CCC, enrolled in our vocational tailoring course, gaining skills to help the family move forward. None of this would have been possible without the support of our generous donors. Thank you, dear donors, for your generosity is shaping the future for children like Asma. ___________ To partner with us, click https://lnkd.in/gps8bpsD #VisionRescue #ReachingoutwithLove

  • ""I want to become a police officer,"" says Advik*, who is six years old. He lives in a small, cramped room in a slum community. His house is poorly built, with leaks in the roof whenever it rains. The streets are noisy, chaotic, and polluted. Advik's father works as a carpenter, but work is not always available. And when it is, the pay is barely enough to cover the family's basic needs. One day, a neighbour told his mother about Vision Rescue’s Beacon Learning Center (BLC). At first, she didn’t understand how education could change anything, as she had never been to school herself beyond the 4th grade. However, she decided to enroll Advik in BLC in June 2022. His enthusiasm for learning gave Pooja hope that this could be their chance to break free from the cycle of poverty. Soon after, Advik’s younger sister also joined the BLC. Seeing them both happy and eager to learn gave his mother a sense of relief. Her youngest will soon join BLC in the coming year. His mother also took a step towards her own growth. She enrolled in Vision Rescue's vocational tailoring course to learn new skills and earn extra income to support her children. Thank you, dear donors, for helping Advik, his family, and others like them rise above their circumstances. ___________ To partner with us, click https://lnkd.in/gps8bpsD #VisionRescue #ReachingoutwithLove #EducationForAll #DreamsComeTrue

  • Noor* loves puzzles and can finish them in a jiffy. Solving puzzles brings her a lot of joy. With her strong focus, she quickly puts together each colorful piece. Noor lives in one of the slum communities in Mumbai. Life is tough for her family, especially since her father works far away as a carpenter and only comes home twice a month. Her mother often struggles with depression and headaches, adding to the weight of their challenges. Noor herself falls sick too often, battling frequent fevers and coughs. The unhygienic environment around their house makes it even harder for her to stay healthy. Besides, she has trouble speaking clearly, sometimes making her feel shy and left out. One day, our CCC met Noor's mother and enrolled Noor in BLC in 2023, where she felt safe and comfortable. Our teachers not only educated Noor but also worked hard to improve her speech. She practiced everyday and she can speak clearly now. Our CCC helped Noor's mother find a job as a maid and provided medical care for her headaches. We are grateful to our Vision Rescue donors for their support in helping Noor and her family. ___________ To partner with us, click https://lnkd.in/gps8bpsD #VisionRescue #ReachingoutwithLove
