Here’s a #thowback to our National Deworming Day poster we disseminated across India! According to the World Health Organization, India has the highest burden of Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) — or worm infestation — and 64% of children less than 14 years are at the risk. Globally, over 260 million preschool-age children, 654 million school-age children, 108 million adolescent girls, and 138.8 million pregnant and lactating women live in areas where these parasites are intensively transmitted. Vitamin Angels is committed to ensuring every child under 5 in India gets the Albendazole #deworming tablets they need to stay healthy and thrive. As we continue to work across the country, we ask you to join us in our mission. It is only by working together can we ensure that our children grow up healthy, strong, and ready to take on the world. . . . . #ThrowbackTime #YearEnder #DewormingDay #DewormingDay2024 #Poshan #PoshanAbhiyaan #nutrition #worms #health #children #HealthyKids #HealthForAll #StrongerTogether

Let’s #throwback to the time our Communications Manager Osama Salman visited the tribal forest villages of Kandhamal district in #Odisha to witness first-hand the transformation project taking place by Vitamin Angels India, in association with KANDHAMAL ZILLA SABUJA VAIDYA SANGATHAN (KZSVS). Named CLAN – Community-Led Action on Nutrition, the pilot project taps into change at the community level, making the people take ownership of their wellbeing. And it starts with a healthy, nutritious plate of food... It’s #ThrowbackTime to when we hosted Howard Schiffer, Founder of Vitamin Angels, in India. Howard has been visiting India for the last 2 decades and is conversant with India and our culture and people. It was a pleasure to see Howard engage with people and bring people together to fight #malnutrition, an issue that has been his passion for over 30 years. During his visit, Howard met partners and business leaders across the spectrum, both in Delhi and Mumbai, where we explored opportunities to collaborate and work together to address the pressing issue of malnutrition and hidden hunger. The conversation focused on how micronutrient deficiencies, often overlooked, are as critical to address as overall nutrition. These meetings underscored the importance of partnerships, a cornerstone of our work across the world, and the need for collaboration to amplify impact and contribute to nation-building. By working together, businesses and non-profits can create shared value, foster innovation, and improve lives. We’re excited to collaborate with visionary leaders across #India to make a real difference. Let’s continue building a future where nutrition equity is a reality for all. Interested in partnering with us? Let's connect and explore how we can make a bigger impact together. . . . . #throwback #YearEnder #leadership #networking #partnership #LeadersOfChange #CSR #SupportUs #nutrition #HealthForAll

This December, here’s a special lookback to some of the qualities that describe our network of 1,800+ program partners in #India that help make healthier futures possible every day – mission-driven, compassionate, and heart-centered. Over the last 14 years through our Micronutrient Grant Program, we have identified on-ground partners working in hard-to-reach areas who have strong interpersonal relations with the community. From faith-based groups, hyperlocal grassroots NGOs, to rural medical practitioners and hospitals, we work with these changemakers who understand local needs and have built trust to introduce evidence-based nutrition interventions in the communities they serve. We provide our field partners access to high-dose such as vitamin A supplementation and deworming tablets (VAS+D) at their doorstep, coupled with virtual and in-person trainings and handholding support to administer the doses safely and effectively to eligible children. We strongly believe that introducing preventive efforts like VAS+D into existing organizational programming allows communities to access these health services at their convenience and provides our partners a bouquet of interventions to roll out simultaneously. This #NewYear2025, partner with us to strengthen our work and reach so that everybody, everywhere can have a chance at a healthy life. Growing up, my understanding of a university or any academic institution, was quite narrow - that they ‘teach’. It was only as I went to the university myself that I clearly understood the role that academic institutions play in creating and publishing new knowledge, and their interface with the industry and public policy formation. But perhaps the most profound role institutions play is in societal change. They help creating the necessary human capital that will face and solve problems of present and future. It transcends into collaborating with governments on public service delivery. Our partnership with Chatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Kanpur University, Kanpur is one such partnership. It echoes all the above, specifically a collaboration to fight anemia among mothers and adolescents. It’s also a shining example of #AnemiaMuktBharat approach, working with specific focus on people, institutions and interventions. Proud to be a part of this changemaker team at Vitamin Angels India and of this winning collaboration! 🇮🇳 #anemia #maternalhealth #children #adolescents #nutrition #CSR Dr. Ashutosh Mishra Animesh Rai (अनिमेष राय) Prateek Tiwari In picture: both the teams signing the MOU
