🏦 Optimizing Bill Payment Processes for Large Private Banks VuNet Systems helps equip large private Banks with real-time visibility of channels, internal application touchpoints, and external API interfaces. We helped one of the largest private banks focussing on customer experience and operational excellence. With transactions coming in from multiple channels and an inherent complexity of the bill payment workflow, real-time visibility into failures and biller performance was paramount for the client. To combat this and collect detailed insights into transaction volumes, biller performance, and the identification of technical and business declines, the bank realized a strategic partner in VuNet backed by passionate product experts was key. Here is what we did for them: ✅ Comprehensive view of the entire bill payment ecosystem, enabling optimization of the process. ✅ Segmentation by business dimensions enabled faster detection of non-performing billers or sub-process contributing to latency. ✅ Correlating the system performance with transaction, biller, channel, and agent enabled better incident response times. 🗄️🖥️ How Domain-centric Adapters help identify key trends from raw log data Integrating business context into observability practices is essential to bridging the gap between raw technical data and actionable business insights. Effectively extracting intelligence from different data sets to obtain real-time meaningful data and metrics requires the right tools - this is where domain-centric adapters within vuSmartMaps™ by VuNet Systems come in. The domain-centric data adapters perform several key functions through a structured data processing pipeline, which involves: 💡Data Collection Agents start by gathering raw data from various sources, for instance, logs of individual transactions from a variety of merchant types, and transaction statuses. 💡Data Filtering/Masking The raw data often contains redundant, irrelevant, or noisy information. During this stage, adapters filter out any unnecessary data and standardize fields to ensure consistency. They also mask the data as applicable for PII (Personally Identifiable Information) 🪪 💡Enrichment and Data Transformation The data is enriched by adding contextual details to each transaction. This enrichment provides deeper insights, enabling teams to analyze trends across different locations, transaction times, and merchant types. Simultaneously, the adapters transform raw data fields into readable formats by converting encoded values into human-readable terms like “Purchase Transaction” or “Insufficient Funds.” Together, these processes make the data more meaningful and actionable for business stakeholders. 💡Data/Transaction Correlation Adapters can correlate data from multiple transaction steps (transaction legs) to provide additional information. These micro-transactions are async in nature and distributed, allowing for complex business logic and multi API calls. Revanth Chanda dives deeper into the role of Domain-centric Adaptors in our latest blog. 🖥️ Improving Digital Banking Experience Through Business Journey Observability 🏦 VuNet Systems helps equip Financial Institutions with a comprehensive birds-eye view of their IT Operations, providing a much-needed edge in an evolving competitive market of digital transactions. We helped one of the largest private sector banks in India leverage technology for a strong digital play, strengthening their focus on customer centricity. Although multiple monitoring tools were deployed in their environment, our client had limited visibility across the Business Process Journey legs, resulting in delayed detection and resolution of issues. To combat this, the bank realized a strategic partner in VuNet backed by passionate product experts was key. Here is what we did for them: ✅ Comprehensive birds-eye view across the Bank’s 15 business applications, 900+ servers across 3 locations. ✅ Single console view of business journeys across 3 locations of IT environment set-up. ✅ Role-based access for teams across LOBs with no data privacy concerns. ⏱️Maintaining Digital Banking Uptime During The Holiday Season📊 Given the holiday season is just upon us, Internet and Mobile Banking Platforms are expected to see spikes in transactions. SREs have a huge responsibility of keeping up with the alerts indicating unstable states due to huge online traffic on the early morning offers by e-commerce merchants. In case of any latency in the transactions, error rates may increase, and there might be a dip in the number of transactions. SREs are on constant alert to keep this from happening. Here is how an IBMB Observability Center can help SREs in such scenarios: 👉 Zero-in on the impacted systems in one click: With an observability software, SREs can pull up micro-journeys to isolate the functions in the IBMB application that are impacted 👉 Segment different views to drill down on real-time transactions: With Segmented Views, SREs are able to drill down on specific channels that are creating spikes in time-outs 👉 Enable Service Maps to pin-point breakdowns: Using Service Maps, you will be able to bring out visual data indicating where services are failing. Compute this with detailed log analysis to reveal the errors causing latency and declines at the code level. This helps SREs get in touch with the product team to address issues at a more granular level. Business-Centric Observability saves critical transaction hours for SREs and Operational Heads during the festive season. Log Types Can Significantly Impact Your TCO📈💰 Handling logs effectively means accounting for both the volume and complexity of log types, to make sure your Observability platform is neither under or over-provisioned. Logs are a critical component, but sizing them for analytics is a tricky proposition. You often get log inputs in terms of GB per day, but this needs to be broken down by log types in order to get an accurate estimation of your costs Here's how different Logs affect your costs💰 - Simple logs like syslogs are usually small and predictable, making them easier and cheaper to process and store. - Complex logs, such as those from applications with debug and error data, are often much larger (kilobytes per event) and require more computing power for processing and storage capacity. The larger the log files - especially during peak hours - the higher the infrastructure costs, including computing, memory, and storage, both on-premises and in the cloud 📈⚠️ Optimizing log storage, compression, and retention policies is essential to controlling the total cost of ownership (TCO). Raja Madhavan - Director of Platforms at VuNet Systems - goes into a lot more detail on how organizations can tackle sizing to achieve high performance without breaking the bank. ⚠️ "The act of gathering and sharing financial information has become a problem" Vamsi Madhav - CEO, Finvu (Cookiejar Technologies) - talks about how the process of sharing financial information has become a challenge for both consumers, even more so for lenders and advisors, often leading to consumers dropping off from the conversation altogther. This is where Account Aggregators - or "Consent Managers" as Vamsi brilliantly puts it - come in, as they help provide a digital solution to securely managing and sharing financial information between parties. Bharat and Vamsi discuss the Account Aggregator framework, and more relevant topics, in a lot more detail on the latest episode of Observability Talk Links to the full episode: 📽 YouTube - https://lnkd.in/geRwdGxH 🎧 Spotify - https://lnkd.in/g3bZsWRT 🎧 Apple Podcasts - https://lnkd.in/gxYwrMHm #Observability #Podcast #RCA #AccountAggregators #BFSI #ConsentManagers #DataSecurity
