At Yulu, we’ve come a long way in building micro-mobility in India, from the ground up. When we started in 2017, few believed there was a need for a service like ours. Quick commerce wasn’t a thing yet, and sustainable commuting wasn’t on most people’s radar. Fast forward to today, and the landscape has transformed. #Yulu was born keeping the customer at the heart of everything. How could we get goods & people from point A to B, in the easiest, most affordable and most sustainable way. By consistently investing in building & improving an integrated tech stack, strong ecosystem partnerships, and a profitable operating model, we’ve gained not just a significant business advantage but also been able to deliver unmatched customer experience & value. Thank you, 3one4 Capital, for sharing the Yulu story with the world. The journey has just begun!
In this week’s edition of Signals, Ayushi Garg (VP) and Anoushka Mandal (Senior Analyst) share optimism about Micromobility, a sector that holds immense potential. Traditionally, micromobility has faced challenges like unit economics, regulatory missteps, and unsustainable growth models, leading to scepticism. They argue that the demand for eco-friendly, efficient urban transportation, driven by urbanisation and sustainability goals, remains strong. Success in this space requires tailored operational models, a robust technology stack, purpose-built hardware, and a focus on profitability over rapid expansion. Companies like Yulu demonstrate the potential of micromobility through a focus on profitable unit economics, strategic expansion, and multimodal offerings. Yulu is present in 13 cities and is EBITDA profitable with a scale of $30M ARR. Detailed read on our blog: https://lnkd.in/gQSiVsva

Amaar, tomaar, shobaar Kolkata ekhon ELECTRIC! ⚡ #Yulu is now in the City of Joy - Kolkata! Yulu and our latest #YuluBusinessPartner (YBP) Electrie jointly flagged off our flagship shared EV mobility service in the city yesterday. The service was inaugurated in the august presence of Shri Ashim Kumar Bose, Member, Mayor-in-Council, West Bengal Urban Employment Scheme, Kolkata Municipal Corporation and Shri Bappaditya Naskar, Inspector of Police & Officer in Charge, Park Street Police Station. Founded by city-based industrialist Shri Soham Misra, Electrie will deploy Yulu’s full-stack mobility ecosystem - which includes #DeX GR electric vehicles (EVs) and cutting-edge technology platform – across the city with Yulu’s support. The launch marks Yulu’s 13th market and the first in Eastern India through the YBP initiative. Similar partner-led ventures are operational in Indore, Kochi, Tirunelveli, Pondicherry and Vadodara. Yulu DeX EVs will be deployed across key parts of Kolkata like Topsia, Ballygunge, Park Street, and Jadavpur. Kolkata’s dense urban layout, growing demand for e-commerce and quick commerce deliveries, and its environmentally conscious populace make it ideal for Yulu’s goods mobility service. In its quest to create a clean mobility ecosystem for businesses in the city, Electrie aims to onboard ~1,000 delivery riders working for brands like Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit, Zepto and Amazon over the coming six months.
