[en] Renormalization group differential equations for the non-normalized Green functions and invariant charges are presented. The equivalence of different renormalization schemes is used to derive the relations between the renormalization group functions of these schemes. An efficient way carry out the renormalization group computations is shown

[en] The role of ρ-ω mixing as a mechanism for charge-symmetry violation in the nucleon-nucleon system is apparently well established. However, a common assumption in generating the charge-symmetry-violation potential is that the ρ-ω mixing amplitude is constant (at the on-mass-shell value) even when the exchanged meson is far off-shell. We construct a simple quark model in which the mixing is generated by the u-d quark mass difference which allows us to test this assumption. It turns out to be surprisingly poor. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The present paper briefly discusses about covariant formulation of superstring theories based on BRS invariance. First, the Neveu-Schwarz-Ramond (NSR) model is outlined. This model describes a string on which fermions are living. Those fermions are described by two dimensional Majorana spinors, since a string spans a two dimensional surface, i.e., world sheet in the D-dimensional space-time. Discussions are then made on the relations between space-time bosons and fermions, super Virasoro algebra, no-ghost theorem, BRS charge, and supersymmetry in the NSR model Another section is devoted to describing covariant (free) field theory of superstring using the first-quantized BRS charges. Discussions are made on field theories of point particle, bosonic string and superstring, as well as space-time supersymmetry. It is concluded that field theories of closed strings including the heterotic string can be considered in similar ways. Interaction terms are constructed according to the BRS invariance of the total actions. Two kinds of them have been proposed, though the relation between them has not been clarified. Furthermore, covariant gauge fixing of interacting string field theories and/or covariant quantization have some difficulties and have not been clarified. It is also pointed out that the space-time supersymmetry would come from the 2-dimensional gauge symmetries, or could be ragarded as a part of the 'original' string gauge symmetries. (Nogami, K.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The relatively large measured value of θ13 has opened up the possibility of determining the neutrino mass hierarchy through earth matter effects. Amongst the current accelerator experiments only NOvA has a long enough baseline to observe earth matter effects. However, even NOvA is plagued with uncertainty on the knowledge of the true value of Δ CP which drastically reduces its sensitivity to the neutrino mass hierarchy. Earth matter effects in atmospheric neutrinos on the other hand is almost independent of δCP. The 50 kton magnetized Iron CALorimeter at the India-based Neutrino Observatory (ICAL at the rate lNO) will be observing atmospheric neutrinos. The charge identification capability of this detector gives it an edge over others for mass hierarchy determination through observation of earth matter effects. We study in detail the neutrino mass hierarchy sensitivity of the data from this experiment simulated using the Nuance based generator developed for ICAL at the rate lNO and folded with the detector resolution and efficiencies obtained by the INO collaboration from a full detector Geant based simulation. The data from ICAL at the rate lNO is then combined with simulated of T2K, NOvA Double Chooz, RENO and Daya Bay experiments and a combined sensitivity study to the mass hierarchy performed. With 10 years of ICAL at the rate lNO data combined with T2K, NOvA and reactor data, one could get 2.8σ - 5σ discovery for the neutrino mass hierarchy depending on the true value of (θ23, θ13 and δCP. AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper estimates the contribution of π0 ets, rho0ω, PHI rho0, PHI rho, and Σ0Λ mixing to ΔB1 in a simple 2-body 'core plus lambda' model of the 4-body hypernuclei. We find that particle mixing, especially Σ0Λ mixing, seems to be the dominant source of charge asymmetry in the NΛ interaction. (orig./WL)

(orig./WL)Primary Subject

AbstractAbstract
[en] We review constraints on parton charge symmetry from various experiments. Recently charge symmetry violation (CSV) has been included in a global fit to high energy data. We show that CSV compatible with all high energy data would be able to remove completely the NuTeV anomaly. (orig.)
