AbstractAbstract
[en] An exclusive experiment that imposed strong restrictive conditions has been performed at the Texas A ampersand M K-500 superconducting cyclotron facility to study the formation and decay of hot nuclear system in the 35 AMeV 63Cu+232Th collision. Dynamical aspects of the collision between the projectile and target were simulated by the computer code CHIMERA which is based on the molecular dynamics concept

AbstractAbstract
[en] The PHOBOS Collaboration has measured transverse momentum distributions of charged hadrons produced in Cu+Cu collisions at √sNN = 200 and 62.4 GeV. The nuclear modification factor RAANpart is calculated relative to p+p data at both collision energies as a function of collision centrality. For the same number of participating nucleons, RAANpart is essentially the same in both systems over the full range of pT that is measured. In addition, we observe that within experimental uncertainties, the ratio of 200 GeV to 62.4 GeV Cu+Cu yields has only a moderate centrality dependence and is consistent with the value previously measured in Au+Au collisions for a broad range of pT. [en] PHENIX has measured the two-particle azimuth correlation in Au+Au at √s 200 GeV. Jet shape and yield at the away side are found to be strongly modified at intermediate and low pT, and the modifications vary dramatically with pT and centrality. At high pT, away side jet peak reappears but the yield is suppressed. Similar jet strength is found for Au+Au and Cu+Cu collisions with similar number of participant nucleons. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Excited levels of the 63,65Cu isotopes are studied by the technique of inelastic scattering of fast reactor neutrons. The lifetimes of levels, the γ-transition multipole mixing and the cross section of the 63,65Cu(n,n'γ)-reaction accompanied by excitation of the first levels with spins 1/2-, 5/2-, 7/2- are determined. AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper deals with the problem of various deep processes occurring when two complex nuclei enter in collision. It is suggested that very deep inelastic processes may lead to either a compound nucleus or a composite system which shortly decays into two fission fragments (quasifission process). Particularly for heavy projectiles and targets, the predominant Coulomb potential inhibits the compound nucleus formation for low l waves. Then a critical angular momentum can be defined as the limit below which both processes (quasifission and compound nucleus formation) occur. For the heaviest nuclei, nearly all l waves below l) contribute to the quasifission phenomenon
