AbstractAbstract
[en] The level scheme of 191Os has been studied from β-decay of 191Re. Gamma-ray singles spectra, γ-γ and β-γ coincidence spectra were obtained by using high resolution detectors. A total of 82 γ-transitions observed were assigned in the level scheme of 191Os consisting of thirty-six excited states up to 1391.89 keV. The level and γ-ray transition properties are discussed in terms of the Nilsson model combining the information from (d, p), (d, t) reactions and (n, γ) spectroscopies. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The proton states in 187Re, 189Re, and 191Re have been studied using the (t,α) reaction. Previous assignments for 187Re are adopted, and assignments in 189Re are based on characteristic intensity patterns and a previous γ-decay study. The Nilsson orbitals are identified in 189Re, and possible assignments of these orbitals are suggested for 191Re. It is found that the spectroscopic strengths of low-lying 11/2- states are much smaller than would be expected for pure hsub(11/2) shell model states but are consistent with values expected for a deformed model. However, the basic Nilsson model does not describe all the features well. The results are compared with the predictions of the Nilsson model with a hexadecapole deformation included. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Proton hole states in 187Re, 189Re and 191Re have been studied using the (t(pol),α) reaction. Beams of 17 MeV tritons with a polarization of 0.75 were obtained from the tandem Van de Graaff accelerator at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory. The α-particles were detected in a Q3D magnetic spectrometer with a helical-cathode position-sensitive proportional counter. Spectra were recorded up to > 2 MeV excitation energy with a resolution (FWHM) of approximately 20 keV. These measurements exhibit large analyzing powers for transitions to well-known states in the deformed nuclide 187Re. This is of interest because the only other single-nucleon transfer results on heavy deformed nuclei (in a (d(pol),p) study of tungsten isotopes) showed 'disappointingly small' analyzing powers. The (t(pol),α) analyzing powers were reproduced by DWBA calculations very well. Thus other levels in 187Re and many states in 189Re and 191Re could be assigned spins and parities on the basis of angular distributions for the cross sections and analyzing powers. In particular, the present results have made it possible to determine which of the three possible interpretations suggested previously for the structure of 191Re is correct. The results have been interpreted within the framework of the Nilsson model, with pairing and Coriolis mixing corrections included. The energy systematics of single-quasiparticle states are well reproduced by the Nilsson model if a hexadecapole deformation is included in the nuclear potential. Finally, it has been demonstrated that the (t(pol),α) reaction is an extremely useful spectroscopic tool for studies of heavy deformed nuclei. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The present revision of the nuclear structure properties for the nuclides belonging to the A = 191 mass chain contains many improvements, corrections and additions to the material presented in previous evaluations (1995Br38, Nucl. Data Sheets 74, 611 (1995)). Besides updating many values, and including supplementary data for already known levels, transitions and level schemes, the most noteworthy modifications with respect to the prior evaluation are the first significant level schemes for 191Pb, 191Bi, and 191Po, showing many levels and transitions, mostly derived from (HI,xnγ) work. The first reports for 191At and 191W and the observation of linking transitions from superdeformed levels to normal deformed levels in 191Hg were also included. Most of decay data sets contain many discrepant data; in some cases, normalization is tentative

AbstractAbstract
[en] Full text: A = 193 evaluation, in collaboration with the Sao Paulo group, was submitted to BNL in April 2004. Datasets for the nuclides 193Hg to 193At have recently been revised taking into account the suggestions of the reviewer. The mass chain was resent on 13 April 2005 to the NNDC for further processing. A = 191 evaluation: data for the nuclides 191Hg to 191At have been evaluated, and the respective datasets have been prepared. A final review is currently being performed. Expected that the ENSDF files for this part of the A = 191 mass chain will be sent for review to the NNDC within the next two weeks. (author)
