AbstractAbstract
[en] Using data collected by the CLEO detector in the Υ(4S) region, we report new measurements of the exclusive decays of B mesons into final states of the type Λc+p-barn(π), where n=0,1,2,3. We find signals in modes with one, two and three pions and an upper limit for the two-body decay Λc+p-bar. We also make the first measurements of exclusive decays of B mesons to Σcp-barn(π), where n=0,1,2. We find signals in modes with one and two pions and an upper limit for the two-body decay Σcp-bar. Measurements of these modes shed light on the mechanisms involved in B decays to baryons

AbstractAbstract
[en] In this article, we study the (1)/(2)- and (3)/(2)- heavy and doubly heavy baryon states ΣQ((1)/(2)-), Ξ'Q((1)/(2)-), ΩQ((1)/(2)-), ΞQQ((1)/(2)-), ΩQQ((1)/(2)-), ΣQ*((3)/(2)-), ΞQ*((3)/(2)-), ΩQ*((3)/(2)-), ΞQQ*((3)/(2)-) and ΩQQ*((3)/(2)-) by subtracting the contributions from the corresponding (1)/(2)+ and (3)/(2)+ heavy and doubly heavy baryon states with the QCD sum rules in a systematic way, and make reasonable predictions for their masses. AbstractAbstract
[en] I discuss the experimental evidence for and theoretical interpretation of the new mesons and baryons with two heavy quarks. These include doubly-heavy baryons, exotic hadronic quarkonia and most recently a manifestly exotic pentaquark-like doubly heavy baryon with a minimal quark content uudc̄ discovered by LHCb, whose mass, decay mode and width are in agreement with a prediction based on a physical picture of a deuteron-like Σ_c D̄"* “hadronic molecule”.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Based on data collected at the Υ(4s) resonance with the CLEO II detector operating at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, the authors search for exclusive decays on the B meson to final states containing baryons. Exclusive reconstruction of B mesons is essential in understanding the mechanism for baryon production in B decays. Last year they observed the decay bar B0→Λc+bar pπ+π-. They continue their search for exclusive B meson decays of the form bar B→Σc bar p(nπ) and bar B→p bar p(nπ) where n=0, 1, 2, and 3 pions

AbstractAbstract
[en] Combined cross section times branching fraction limits are given for Σc++ → Λc+π+ and Σc0 → Λc+π- where Λc+ → Σs±π±π+. The Λc+ is reconstructed with partial information on the Σs; the missing Σs momentum is established through momentum conservation imposed by a constrained fit. The data are of π- beam interactions at 250 GeV from Fermilab experiment E769

AbstractAbstract
[en] Charmed (and bottom) hypernuclei are studied in the quark-meson coupling (QMC) model. This completes systematic studies of charmed (Λ+c, Σc, Ξc), and Λb hypernuclei in the QMC model. Effects of the Pauli blocking due to the underlying quark structure of baryons, and the ΣcN-ΛcN channel coupling are phenomenologically taken into account at the hadronic level in the same way as those included for strange hypernuclei. Our results suggest that the Σ++c and Ξ+c hypernuclei are very unlikely to be formed, while the Λ+c, Ξ0c and Λb hypernuclei are quite likely to be formed. For the Σ+c hypernuclei, the formation probability is non-zero, though small. A detailed analysis is also made about the phenomenologically introduced Pauli blocking and channel coupling effects for the Σ0c hypernuclei

AbstractAbstract
[en] Using data recorded by the CLEO-II detector at CESR, we report evidence of a pair of excited charmed baryons, one decaying into Λc+ π+ and the other into Λc+π-. The doubly charged state has a measured mass difference M(Λc+ π+) - M(Λc+) of 234.5 ± 1.1 ± 0.8 MeV and a width of 17.9-3.2+3.8 ± 4.0 MeV, and the neutral state has a measured mass difference M(Λc+π-) - M(Λc+) of 232.6 ± 1.0 ± 0.8 MeV and a width of 13.0-3.0+3.7 ± 4.0 MeV. We identify these states as Σ*c++ and Σ*c0, the spin 3/2+ excitations of the Σc baryons

AbstractAbstract
[en] We discuss the isospin-breaking mass differences among baryons, with particular attention in the charm sector to the Σc+-Σc0, Σc++-Σc0, and Ξc+-Ξc0 splittings. Simple potential models cannot accommodate the trend of the available data on charm baryons. More precise measurements would offer the possibility of testing how well potential models describe the non-perturbative limit of QCD

AbstractAbstract
[en] We give the explicit wave functions of the qqqqq-bar components of the C=+1, J=1/2 charmed baryons, Σc, Λc and Ξca, and calculate the magnetic moments by adding the 5q components contributions, and we also compute the magnetic moments of the Σb and Σb* baryons. The influence of the additional light and strange qq-bar pairs is investigated. As we know, the constituent quark masses of the charm and beauty quarks are much heavier than that of the light and strange quarks, consequently, the hidden flavor contributions to the baryons magnetic moments may be significant. What is interesting is that the inclusion of the qqqqq-bar components contributions leads to different Λc+, Ξca+ and Ξca0 magnetic moments, all of which are predicted to be the same value 0.38μN on the basis of the classical qqq quark model. And it is shown that the differences of these magnetic moments are independent of the constituent mass of the charm quark
