AbstractAbstract
[en] The warmup rate of the 165Ho-enhanced nuclear spins in a HoVO4 single crystal in contact with dilute 3He is shown to be dominated by the Kapitza resistance Rμ at low bath temperature (T /SUB b/ < 100 mK). This result is obtained from an analysis of the NMR signal during the warmup, following a demagnetization which cools the sample to a temperature of about 5 mK. The temperature variation of Rμ (ο T-3 /SUB b/ ) is consitent with the acoustic mismatch model, but the magnitude is 40 times smaller than the theoretical predictions for a solid-liquid interface. The spin-lattice relaxation is also estimated, and found to be in agreement with the results of other authors

AbstractAbstract
[en] The spin-lattice relaxation time T1 of 169Tm nuclear spins in TmPO4 has been measured at temperatures T between 50 mK and 2.2 K, in a magnetic field H perpendicular to the c-axis, ranging from 15 mtesla to 5.5 tesla. The results above 0.5 tesla are interpreted in terms of a direct process, strongly slowed down by phonon bottleneck. In very low fields (H < 0.1 tesla), T1 varies like H2/T. We discuss the feasibility of producing a nuclear ordered state of the 169Tm spins by ''brute force''

[en] We have observed in thulium phosphate TmPO4 an ordered structure of the nuclear spins of 169Tm in high magnetic field. This structure is transverse in the rotating frame, and thus precessing in the laboratory frame

AbstractAbstract
[en] Nuclear polarizations of 60% for protons and 40% for 7Li have been obtained in LiH samples by means of the Solid Effect in a field of 5T and at a temperature of 0.6K. The paramagnetic impurities used for the solid effect are F-centers, created by β irradiation of samples near liquid argon temperature. The conditions of the irradiation have been varied to obtain the best results. The nuclear polarization and dipolar relaxation time, the F-center concentration, EPR lineshape and spin-lattice relaxation have been measured for each sample. These electronic parameters have been determined by measuring the shift of the NMR lines induced by a known saturation of the EPR. The influence of the temperature sample during the irradiation has been examined. Anomalies in the relaxation rates indicate the presence both of clusters of loosely bound F-centers and of small Li colloidal centers

AbstractAbstract
[en] Two instruments are proposed for use in wide-line NMR spectroscopy. The first is a servomechanism, a modification of a simple Q-meter spectrometer which automatically tunes the resonant circuit to the oscillator frequency. The stability of the Q-meter is improved and both the electrical and the magnetic dispersion are suppressed. The second device concerns the analogue calculation of various integrals of the NMR line. The basic instrument monitors continuously the area of a NMR line and has application in the measurement of susceptibility or dynamic polarization, and of nuclear Zeeman relaxation times both in the laboratory and the off-resonance rotating frames. Variants of the instrument permit the measurement of dipolar energy, dipolar relaxation times, and of other quantities such as the higher moments of the line and the transverse susceptibility
