AbstractAbstract
[en] In controlled fusion research one of the chief problems is the injection of power beams of fast hydrogen atoms into magnetic traps. The development of effective injectors depends largely on the progress in the design of high-current ion source modules. In this relation the paper gives a description of a specific large-area plasma emitter by means of a low-voltage diffusion discharge in a discharge chamber with a distributed cathode without an external magnetic field. Ion selection and beam shaping are effected by means of a three-electrode multi-slit ion-optical system. The IBM-5 ion source (nonmagnetic ion module) design is described, which is intended to be used in the T-11 tokamak injector. IBM-5 allows to obtain hydrogen ions with energies of up to 25 keV, current of more than 30 A, and pulse duration of 20 ms. When it will be used in the T-11 tokamak, an atom flux up to 320 kW at particle energy of 20 keV or up to 500 kW at particle energy of 25 keV can be injected into the device

AbstractAbstract
[en] The IBM-5 ion source without an external magnetic field is described which is intended for the injection of powerful beams of fast hydrogen atoms to create and heat a plasma in magnetic traps. The source provides for the production of hydrogen ion beams with energies up to 250 keV, current more than 30 A and pulse duration of 20 ms. The angle of beam divergence along slits amounts < 0.60), that across slits is approximately 2.50, the initial cross section being 8x18 cm. Described in detail is a concrete realization of plasma emitter of a large area with the aid of a low-voltage diffusion discharge. It occurs in a discharge chamber with a distributed cathode, without an external magnetic field being imposed. The selection of ions and beam shaping are made using a three-electrode multi-slit ion-optical system. While using the source in the T-11 tokamak injector, it provides the introduction of a 500 kW atom flux into the installation at the energy of 25 keV

AbstractAbstract
[en] Calculation parameters of ion-atom channel elements are given and the design of T-15 tokamak injectors meant for input of atom beam of 10 MW power at 80 keV energy and pulse duration 1,5 sec. into the tokamak chamber for plasma heating as described. Injection system is based on simultaneous operation of three autonomous injectors. In each injector two modules of ion sources are mounted. The ion-atom channel of the injector consists of two ion sources neutralizer of ions beam into fast atoms beam magnetic flit shield, diaphragms ion and atom receptors deflecting electromagnet, cryopanels of 15 cm2 general area, rectangular vacuum chamber manufactured of sheet steel 12Kh18N10T of 16 mm thickness. The vacuum chamber weight constitutes 25 tons volume 24,5 m3. Ion sources are situated one above another by vertical order. In neutralizers ion beams formed are converted into fast atom beams on gas base. Behind the neutralizer situated is magnetic flit shield along the length of which gas pumping out occurs. Separation of atoms and non recharged ions is realized by the deflecting electromagnet. The deflected ions get to the receptor and fast atoms by atomguide into the tokamak. The injector diaphragm protects the electromagnet construction from overheating

AbstractAbstract
[en] A design of superconducting magnet system (SMS) is described for the LIN-5B baseball trap elaborated for the OGRA-3B experimental installation. The general layout of the trap, cross sections of the superconducting coil and load-bearing frame, the current leads arrangement and main LIN-5B SMS parameters are presented. A three-year experience in operation of the baseball LIN-5B SMS and successful tests followed by achieving critical conditions four times permit to make the conclusion that the design and SMS assembly meet the requirements
