AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper gives the results of an experimental investigation of the relation between the absorption coefficient and the emission frequency x(Δν) for the cesium resonance doublets 4555/4593 A and 8521/8943 A in a plasma of combustion products (p = 1 atm, T = 20500K) with an alkali seed. The relative variation of the absorption coefficient at distances of 5-400 cm-1 from the line centers is obtained. Individual regions of x(Δν) are approximated by an expression of the form x(Δν)approx.(Δν)-/sup x/. Near the line centers (up to 10-30 cm-1) x = 2, and on the line wings xapprox. =1.2-0.7

AbstractAbstract
[en] The attenuation of electromagnetic waves by uranium dust particles was calculated in the frame of the Mie theory for various spherical particle sizes and different wavelengths. Real and imaginary parts of the refraction coefficient for uranium needed for this calculation were taken from the experimental and theoretical works.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Complete text of publication follows. Experimental research of argon-xenon dusty plasma and numerical simulation shows the possibility of forming of the ordered dust structures and dust crystals from charged micron uranium and uranium oxide particles. Such dust structures allow to increase efficiency of the direct conversion of nuclear energy into the optical radiation. We are using numerical simulations to investigate the possibility of the forming of the dust structures in dynamic electrical traps such as the Paul trap or quadrupole trap. Numerical simulations of dust particles behaviour for potential forces acting on dust particles is considered, the influence of buffer gas medium is taken into account by viscosity and random forces. In considered model the dust particle motion is described by the Langevin equation: md d2r1/d2t = Ftr(t,ri) + Fint(ri) - 6πηRd dri/dt + FiBr + Fmg where i = 1, ..., Nd, Nd - number of dust particles, Rd - dust particle radius, η - dynamic viscosity, Ftr(t,ri) = -grad(Ui,t) - force of external electric field that compensate the gravity force, FBr - stochastic delta correlated forces that describe dust and plasma particles collisions, Fmg - dust particle weight, Fint(ri)= -grad(Ui) - forces acting between dust particles, U - potential energy of dust particle interaction accounting for the shielding. Detailed description of numerical method is given in [3]. All test of calculations were carried out for one dust particle in harmonic trap V(x)=ωx2/2. Test results agree very well with analytical solutions. Obtained results for Paul trap showed the appearance of standing waves of the dust particle density arising due to the dynamic effects of periodic external low frequency electric field. The dependences of electric field amplitude and frequency needed for levitation of dust particles in a quadrupole trap have been studied. The dependence of the equilibrium position of dust structures in a quadrupole trap versus the frequency of the alternating electric field is investigated.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The highly ordered levitating structures of radioactive dusty particles in nuclear excited plasma of tube capacitor are studied using the Brownian dynamics. Models with potential and non potential forces acting on charged dusty particles have been investigated. Types and stability of obtained dust particle structures are analyzed at atmospheric pressure and normal conditions. The stationary crystal - like structures have been obtained only for potential forces acting on dusty particles, while in model with non potential forces the formation of two slowly rotating in opposite direction highly ordered vortices has been predicted (copyright 2009 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH and Co. AbstractAbstract
[en] In this paper, we experimentally and numerically studied the wave-like excitations in the system comprised by a charged nylon filament (macroobject) and charged microparticles levitating in a linear quadrupole electrodynamic trap. It has been found out that a filament with sufficient sag forms a rotating standing-like wave, while the particles due to the Coulomb repulsion are localized in its antinodes. Numerical simulation shows that this dynamic collective motion can be excited at high enough voltages on the electrodes, when the energy losses due to air viscosity can be compensated by the energy contribution of the altering electric fields of the trap. AbstractAbstract
[en] Results are presented from experimental and theoretical investigations of the behavior of dust grains in a track plasma produced by a beam of accelerated protons. The dynamic ordered dust structures in a proton-beam-produced plasma are obtained for the first time. The processes leading to the formation of such structures are simulated numerically. The experimentally obtained dynamic vortex dust structures in a track plasma of a proton beam is explained theoretically, and the theoretical model developed to describe such a plasma is verified experimentally

AbstractAbstract
[en] Results are presented from Monte Carlo calculations of the electric charge of dust grains in a plasma produced during the slowing down of the radioactive decay products of californium nuclei in neon. The dust grain charging is explained for the first time as being due to the drift of electrons and ions in an external electric field. It is shown that the charges of the grains depend on their coordinates and strongly fluctuate with time. The time-averaged grain charges agree with the experimental data obtained on ordered liquidlike dust structures in a nuclear-track plasma. The time-averaged dust grain charges are used to carry out computer modeling of the formation of dynamic vortex structures observed in experiments. Evidence is obtained of the fact that the electrostatic forces experienced by the dust grains are potential in character
