AbstractAbstract
[en] A Monte Carlo program simulates the emission and collection of Cerenkov light due to P and π (0.6 to 1.4 GeV/c) going through a rectangular parallelepiped of plexiglas. Without taking into account the knocked out electrons (delta) a good theoretical separation is obtained between P and π. The contribution of delta electrons has been calculated separately. Experimental tests are under way using cosmic rays

AbstractAbstract
[en] The π+-H and π+-D elastic scattering excitation functions for theta sub(π)=1800 were measured between 130 and 280 MeV kinetic energy. The π+-D results show some evidence for a structure in the vicinity of 250 MeV which could be due to a dibaryon resonance formation

AbstractAbstract
[en] Giant quadrupole resonance in 12C, 24Mg, and 27Al was studied using 70 MeV deuteron beam. The results clearly show, in all three targets, resonance-like structures peaked at E/sub x/ approximately 63A/sup -1/3/ MeV, with a width of about 10 MeV. The experimental angular distributions for these resonances agree well with the l = 2 DWBA prediction. For 12C, a binary splitting was observed, and for 24Mg, there are indications of finer structure in the main giant quadrupole resonance region

[en] The SATURNE synchrotron was used in a pp→ K+X experiment with high resolution to study λp and σN final interactions in a large range of momentum transfer and missing mass. Results at an incident proton energy of 2.3 GeV in the mass region for X: 2055 < MX< 2180 GeV and for kaon emission angles of 8 and 10 deg are presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] The production of π0 and eta0 mesons in the reactions pd→π0tau and pd→eta0tau has been studied at very backward angles for kinetic proton energies Tsub(p) ranging from 0.92 to 2.6 GeV. The excitation functions at phisub(π) = phisub(eta) = 1800 display large structures which might be related to baryonic (Δ and N*) excitations in the intermediate state

AbstractAbstract
[en] The (p,2p) reactions on the target nuclei 7Li and 12C have been studied at 100 MeV bombarding energy. The energies of both the outgoing protons have been measured in coincidence in a coplanar symmetric geometry with good energy and momentum resolution in order to separate the different excited states of the residual nuclei. The experimental data are presented in a form suitable for direct comparison with theory. The distorted wave impulse approximation model (DWIA) can explain the qualitative features of the energy sharing and angular correlation spectra. The detailed quantitative agreement with DWIA is however somewhat poor indicating the necessity of a more exact treatment of the three body reaction. (U.S.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Experimental indications of dibaryon resonances (DBR) are discussed. A search for DBR using a specially built spectrometer in the elementary pion production channel: P + P→P + P +π0 is described. A C12 target was bombarded by 800 MeV protons. The shape of the spectrum is consistent with corresponding charged π figures. Results show that the system, after modifications, can be used to hunt DBR

AbstractAbstract
[en] The missing mass spectra for the transfer reaction p(3He,d)X (B=2, T=1) have been measured at Tsub(3He) = 2.7 GeV. The data show: 1) a narrow structure lying on top of an important continuum, with a mass M = 2.240+-0.005 GeV and a width GAMMAsub(1/2) = .016 +- .003 GeV; 2) a large structure with centroid location close to Msub(x) approximately equal to 2.170 +- .005 GeV and width GAMMAsub(1/2) approximately .100 +- .005 Gev
