AbstractAbstract
[en] Backward elastic K+p and K-p scattering has been measured in the angular interval 168 deg. < Θ.c.m. < 177 deg. The experimental apparatus included optical spark chambers to measure the three prongs of the event scattering, a set of scintillation counters and Cerenkov counters to select events ant trigger chambers, and a magnet to determine the moment of the recoil proton. 106000 photographs was taken. Of these, 22 satisfied all requirements as elastic K+p scattering events. No event was found satisfy the kinematical criteria for K-p elastic scattering. The correspondent values of differential cross sections are: (dσ/dΩ)K+p → pK+ = 17 ± 4 μb/ster. (dσ/dΩ)K-p → pK- ≤ 0.6 μb/ster. Contaminations by πp backward scattering, and inelastic scattering were estimated. Elastic scattering K+p exhibits a backward peak. A reasonably satisfactory interpretation of our results is obtained by exchange models. There is, in fact, no definitely established particles which could intermediate the Kp- → pK- process in exchange cannel. That is in good agreement with our small value of K-p backward elastic scattering cross section. Our results lend support to the conclusions of the interference model developed by Barger and Cline for the πp backward scattering, and to qualitative previsions of the Quark models. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Up to the highest momentum transfer measured [≅2 (GeV/c)2], the inelastic double differential α-nucleus cross sections obtained with α's of 7 GeV/c incident momentum are fairly well described by an incoherent sum of single and double quasielastic collisions on the substructures of the target, and the different orders of scattering are clearly identified. The assumptions used in this analysis are also justified by the elastic behavior of the integrated partial cross sections that correspond to these different orders of scattering. The interpretation of these integrated cross sections by a Glauber model enables the evaluation of the mean square radii as well as the spectroscopic factors of the substructures concerned. Pion processes measured in these α-nucleus collisions are also considered

AbstractAbstract
[en] The mercury method for the oxygen titration in sodium has now been known for ten years and is probably the more frequently used. In this text, precision are given to what extent it is valuable when used in microanalysis. Details are given on the apparatus, its manipulation and its calibration. After testing, we have decided to use flame spectroscopy to titrate the sodium hydroxide formed. Discussions are exposed on the errors due to the presence of sodium chloride and calcium. Results are examined from the point of view of their reproducibility and accuracy. If great care is taken, this method allows oxygen titration in sodium even for values below 10 ppm with satisfactory precision. (author)

(auteur)Original Title

AbstractAbstract
[en] A set of 43 momentum spectra from the inclusive reaction np→pX0 was measured with good statistical accuracy at 1.39, 1.56, 1.73 and 1.90 GeV/c (about 10 spectra per incident momentum), with a neutron beam obtained by stripping deuterons. The final proton was analysed in an angular region of between 00 and 200 in the laboratory by a magnetic spectrometer. The set of these results is analysed in terms of the pion exchange model using the parametrization of Duerr-Pilkuhn and Benecke-Duerr. The differential cross sections dsigma(np→pΔ033)/dt are determined from the experimental spectra. (Auth.)
