AbstractAbstract
[en] Mochovce nuclear power station is to be commissioned this very decade and will produce power for Slovakia. Two units of 440 MW each will soon be finished, and two further units are projected. Siemens/KWU and Framatome cooperated to achieve safety standards that were unknown in Eastern Europe before. The project is described in detail. (orig.)

(orig.)Original Title

[en] With a spectrometer containing spark- and proportional-chambers we investigated the reaction γp → PHIp with tagged photons in the energy range 4.65-6.71 GeV, where the PHI was detected via the decay PHI → K+K-. We evaluated the spin-density-matrixelements of the PHI for /t/ < 0.24 GeV2 and the slope of the Pomeron-trajectory α' which was determined from values of the differential cross section of PHI-experiments in the range of the four-momentum transfer /t/ < 0.4 GeV2. The data were fitted to helicity amplitudes with 6 free parameters. (orig./BJ)

(orig./BJ)Original Title

AbstractAbstract
[en] This series of slides draws a picture of the training offerings in export control within the framework of the International Nonproliferation Export Control Program. These courses are organized around 3 topics: licensing, enterprise outreach and enforcement. There are about 10 courses, a brief content of their curricula is given. The goal of these courses is not to make participants into export control experts or trade analysts, but enable them to properly take export controls into account. (A.C.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A mass-dependent asymmetry was observed in the decay angular distribution of a photoproduced K+K- system near the K+K- threshold. The corresponding moments (Y10) have evaluated. Interpreting the asymmetry as an S-P wave interference due to the states S*sub(993) (0+) and phisub(1019) (1-) one can compute the moments (Y10) through an amplitude analysis. The theoretical calculation reproduces the experimental results well, if one assumes a real S-wave amplitude for the S*sub(993). The data cannot be explained by a non-resonant real S-wave. Other possibilities have been discussed. An estimate of the photoproduction cross section of the S* → K+K- can be given on the basis of the above hypothesis. (Auth.)

[en] The reaction γ + p → PHI + p has been measured using a spark chamber spectrometer and a tagged photon beam in the energy range from 4.6 to 6.7 GeV. Approximately 3,500 photoproduced elastic PHI-events have been collected in the t-range between t,min and t = -0.4 (GeV/c)2. Cross sections and t-distributions are presented. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper synthesizes findings on non-proliferation safeguards and security analyses performed by US-DOE and French CEA. It identifies several technical features associated with light water cooled small modular reactor (LW-SMR) concepts being developed in various countries, and considers their nonproliferation and security implications relative to large (GWe-scale) light water reactors (LWRs). It appears that proliferation pathways are basically the same for LW-SMRs and for conventional LWRs. Robustness against sabotage, nuclear material theft or diversion risks are similar. Several LW-SMR technical features may likely provide security advantages when compared with current conventional LWRs: below-grade siting, passive safety features, lessening of large coolant pipes, smaller source term. On the contrary, a larger number of modules may increase security and safeguards costs. In the case of LW-SMRs implemented in newcomer countries, the spent fuel management strategy must be carefully considered and managed

(orig.)Primary Subject

AbstractAbstract
[en] The differential cross sections of the reaction (γp→pphi) has been measured in the t range 0<=t<=0.4 GeV2 and for photon energies from 3.0 to 6.7 GeV. In particular for the small t region the measurement accuracy was better than 10%. The authors obtained for the slope parameter B in an exponential parametrization of the differential cross section dsigma/dt=Aesup(-Bt) values of B approximately= 6+-0.5 GeV-2 which are significantly larger than the slopes obtained by most other experiments at higher t values. This indicates a t dependence of B particularly in the small t region. (Auth.)
