AbstractAbstract
[en] In electron-atom collisions, VUV emission spectra of He I (50--60 nm) and He II (20--30 nm) were studied, and the excitation functions were measured for spectral lines corresponding to the 1snp--1s2 He I and np--1s He II (n< or =4) transitions in the energy range from the excitation threshold to 500 eV. Absolute values of the excitation cross sections of the lines studied were estimated. The law of decrease of the cross sections (at the maximum) within the series with an increase in the principal quantum number of the initial line level was established

AbstractAbstract
[en] Identification of subthreshold structures in the experimentally studied energy dependences of effective electron excitation cross sections for λ = 226.5 and 214.4 nm resonance lines of Cd+ ions is suggested. The experiment was performed by spectroscopic method using the monoenergetic electron and ionic beams crossed at 90 degree angle. It has been found that the subthreshold features are due to the resonant capture of an incident electron by an ion, excitation of the 'electron + Cd+ ion' system into the 4d105p(2P1/2,3/2)nl autoionizing states (AIS), and their decay to the excited 4d105snl states of an Cd atom, i.e. the features are the dielectronic satellites of resonance lines

AbstractAbstract
[en] Radiation transitions between 4d9(2D5/2,3/2)5s2nl and 4d105p(2P1/2,3/20)nl self-ionized states of Cd atom being dielectron satellites of λ325.0 nm (4d95s22D3/2 →4d105p2P1/20) and λ353.6 nm (4d95s22D3/2 → 4d105p2P3/20) laser lines of Cd+ ion were detected for the first time at electron-ion collisions. One studied energy dependences of the effective cross sections of electron excitation of the satellite lines within 7-10 eV energy range. The effective cross sections of excitation of dielectron satellites constitutes ∼ 10-17 cm2 that is comparable with the efficiency of excitation of the laser lines

Original Title

AbstractAbstract
[en] The excitation of lower levels of noble-gas ions and of dielectron recombination of the helium ion are investigated systematically and in detail, using the technique of intersecting modulated electron and ion beams and detecting the concomitant radiation in a wide spectral range (30-500 nm). The energy dependences of the effective excitation cross sections are investigated and their absolute values are determined for 32 spectral transitions. Distinct maxima are observed in the cross sections of the investigated processes, most of which are resonant. It is shown that the resonant maxima are due to formation and decay of autoionizing states in the corresponding electron and radiative channels

AbstractAbstract
[en] Dielectronic recombination (DR) of Te+ ion was studied for the first time in crossed beams. Investigation was conducted by detection of vacuum ultraviolet radiation, occurring in radiation transitions from autoionization states (FIS) of 6s6p2-configuration to the ground 6s26p 2P01/2,3/2-stable of Tl atom and from AIS of 6s6p(3P0, 1P0)np-configuration to excited levels of Tl atom. Energy dependences of DR were investigated and its effective cross sections were determined. 12 refs., 3 figs

[en] In this paper, we present the results of spectroscopic studies of the resonance structure revealed in the near-threshold electron-impact excitation of the resonance In+ ion λ 158.6 nm line and suggest the physical justification of the origin of their formation.
