AbstractAbstract
[en] A description is given of a set of 16 drift chamber planes built by our institute. These chambers are in operation since one year in experiment NA11 at the CERN SPS. For the readout of all chambers in this experiment (48 planes, 3528 channels) a modified version of the CERN DTR-system is used. Our modifications will be described. The performance of our chambers and the electronics will be discussed. For the monitoring of the chambers and electronics we have developed a system based on an LSI 11 minicomputer. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The reaction pBe → Λ(1,520)X has been measured at 100 GeV incident momentum in the kinematic range 0.15 < x < 0.35 (x = 2psub(||)sup(c.m.)/√S) and Psub(T) < 1 GeV. The invariant cross section is compatible with that measured for pp interactions at the CERNISR. The differential cross section dsigma/dpsub(T)2 is fitted to an exponential esup(-αpT2) with α = 2.7 GeV-2. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Inclusive PHIPHI production has been studied in π--Be interactions for 100 and 175 GeV incident momentum. An upper limit of 72 nb has been set for sigma(π-Be → etasub(c)(2980)+ X) x BR(etasub(c) → PHIPHI) at 175 GeV. At both momenta the number of PHIPHI events is larger than expected for uncorrelated PHI pairs. A narrow width enhancement is observed at M sub(PHI)sub(PHI) approx. equal to 2100 MeV with a 4 standard deviation significance. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Inclusive phi-meson production has been measured for 100 GeV/c K-, anti p and p incident on a Be target. Differential cross sections dsigma/dxsub(F) and dsigma/dpsub(perpendicular to)2 are presented in the interval 0.075< xsub(F)<0.225 and 0< psub(perpendicular to)<1 GeV/c respectively. The shape of the dsigma/dxsub(F) distributions agrees with predictions from a quark fusion model. Comparison with cross sections measured on a hydrogen target in the same xsub(F) and psub(perpendicular to) range suggest a linear A-dependence from A=1 to A=9. (orig.)
