[en] Literature on the problems of polarography of β-dicetones and β-dicetonates of metals including rare earths covering the period from sixties up today is reviewed. Conditions, mechanism and practical possibilities of the process are considered. A possibility of using polarography for studying fantomerism in the series of cyclic β-dicetones is noted

[en] A rapid analysis of natural and waste waters for heavy metal impurities is suggested. The quick test character of the analysis is achieved by the use of voltammetric determination of zinc, cadmium, lead and copper ions on carbon glass electrode in solutions containing up to 7x10-6 M mercury salt at the background of 0.01-0.025 M phosphoric acid. Anode dissolution is realized with the rate of potential scanning rate of 3-5 V/s. When accumulation time is 100-200 s the limit of cadmium determination in natural water samples ions-titutes 1μg/l, relative error of determination does not exceed 3-4 %. 1 fig.; 4 tabs
