AbstractAbstract
[en] Cross sections and yields have been determined for some radioisotopes used in nuclear medicine (52Fe, 77K/77Br, 82Sr, 123Xe/128Ba, 201Tl), in bombardment of targets with protons of energy ≤100 MeV. The experimental cross sections are cpmpared with the excitation function calculated by the ALICE program in the energy interval from the threshold to 100 MeV. The obtained results can be used for radioisotopes production in bombardment of target with protons of energy ≤100 MeV. 42 refs.; 11 figs.; 9 tabs

AbstractAbstract
[en] A method for fabricating barium isotope radiation sources, used for investigating conversion electron spectra, with the help of electrolytic deposition is proposed. To accelerate the process, to increase and stabilize the degree of radioisotope microquantity trnsfer to the cathode of minor area, the electrolysis is performed from ammonium acetate solution with 0.02-0.1M concentration, to which mercury salt is preliminarly added, allowing for 20-30 μg of mercury for 1 mm2 of cathode surface. After that the cathode is heated in 13x102-26x102 Pa vacuum at 300-400 deg C to eliminate mercury, deposited together with barium

AbstractAbstract
[en] Excitation functions for the 113Cd(p,3n)111In and 114Cd(p,4n)111In reactions were measured by the stacked-foll technique in the energy range from 63 to 3 MeV. The results were compared with theoretical calculations based on the hybrid model using the well developed computer code ALICE. For the same energy range, the effective cross-sections were determined for the natCd(p,xn)111In reactions. At the initial proton energy of 63 MeV for production of 111In from 113Cd,114Cd and natCd the cumulative yields were found as 16.7; 15.7 and 10.4 mCl/μAh, respectively. The contamination of the undersired nuclide 114mIn was determined. The carrier-free 111In activity was separated from the cadmium cyclotron-target by procedure based on ion exchange chemistry. Th radionuclide purity of the final radioindium was determined. 30 refs.; 6 figs.; 6 tabs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The structures of quaternary, nickel-rich Ni--Cr--B--Si alloys were analyzed at a constant boron content of 10 at. percent and a temperature of 8500C. The composition range for silicide formation was determined. In these quaternary alloys, known binary nickel silicides, nickel and chromium borides, and the ternary silico-boride Ni6Si2B were confirmed. A new composition for the W5Si3-type phase in the Ni--B--Si system was proposed. (U.S.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The cumulative cross sections of 200Tl, 201Tl and 202Tl production from lead and bismuth targets irradiated with 660 MeV protons are defined. A procedure for radiochemical separation of thallium from these targets is suggested. Chemical yield of thallium is about 80%. Analysis of the gamma spectrum of radiothallium indicates that this spectrum contain impurities of other radioisotopes. It is based on TlBr4- sorption by KU-2 or Dowex-5O

AbstractAbstract
[en] The comulative cross sections of 200Tl, 201Tl and 202Tl production from lead and bismuth targets irradiated with 660 MeV protons are defined. For Pb the cross sections are 103+-5, 48+-9, 16.8+-2.8 for sup(200, 201, 202)Tl isotopes respectively. For Bi the cross sections are 120+-19, 62+-9, 6.2+-1.7 for sup(200, 201, 202)Tl. The procedure for radiochemical separation of thallium from the targets is suggested, based on the sorption of TlBr4- complex anion on the KU-2 or Douex-50 cationites

[en] The consideration of the iodine-123 production on the LU-100 linear accelerator were studied. The excitation functions of the (p, 3n) and (p, 5n) reactions at the irradiaton of sodium iodine with 100 MeV protons have been measured. The yield and radionuclide purity of iodine-123 produced via xenon-123 separated from the target in on-line regime have been determined. The experimental results indicated that iodine-123 yield was by more than 30% over the 100-48 MeV proton energy range than those obtained for 66-46 MeV range. The contamination of iodine-125 was as high as 0.14% (EOB+6 h)

AbstractAbstract
[en] For a range of filler metal-base metal combinations, an attempt was made to determine stress distribution versus lap ratio using AWS standard single lap shear samples. The theoretical model of only shearing shows that the stress concentration is shifted by increasing overlap from the filler to the base metal. Normally the stress distribution is much more complicated, due to the torsion of the sample in the brazed area. This can be determined by calculation of an equivalent stress sigma/sub e/. In this paper it was shown that the standardized stress can deviate from the ideal case of pure shearing by as much as 29.3 percent at a twisting angle γ = 45 degrees. Therefore a higher than actual tensile strength of the brazed joint is simulated

[en] A general diagram of an on-line process for radioiodine production from radioxenon when irradiating CsCl at the synchrocyclotron of the JINR nuclear problem laboratory (Esub(p)=700 MeV) to study the quality of spallogeneous 123I and its application in nuclear medicine is given. The diagram represents a model of 123I production organization on the basis of a high-current accelerator (device ''F''). Problem related to constructions of targets, traps and means of radioxenon transportation are considered
